How Adam Orth Prepared an Industry for the Xbox One

GOS: "Despite a decent amount of titles shown during their E3 2013 press conference, exclusives and third-party partnerships did not help Microsoft’s attempt to make the Xbox One appeal to gamers. A possible reason could be the quality of the games shown, but the policies that go with your gameplay on the Xbox One is what’s taking center stage. The more negative press I read during this week of E3 2013 the more I think of Adam Orth, a man who may of intentionally or accidentally prepared us for the Xbox One." (E3, Microsoft, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

He was the hero we needed.
A watchful protector.
A silent guardian.
A bit of a douchebag.

The backlash of his tweet no doubt shook things up at MS HQ.All leeks suggest they were going full always online. He sacrificed himself for your greenpowerz!

off topic but when are you guys going to do another SYGU podcast? You need atleast a bi-weekly schedule.

We are trying to keep to a bi-weekly schedule DayZ. Our day jobs is getting in the way at the moment but we do have a podcast planned real soon. We are preparing a skit, and I will just leave it at that lol.

Thanks for listening btw!

A *bit* of a douchebag?

Actually no. Compared to Mattrick, Orth may have only been an on-par douche as far as MS employees are concerned.

On topic - ? - not really seeing how a once per 24 hour check in is in any way fundamentally different than a "constant" always online requirement. if you don't have internet in the first place, you don't have internet. If they had done "always on" I'm more than certain - I really hope - that they would have allowed some leeway for disruptions.

No wait - they were talking about three minutes at one point, weren't they?

*facepalm*

It's like it's mandatory to be a douchebag if you want a job at Microsoft.

and...
he was fired for it! what did he say wrong? nothing, but still lost his job for being...hmm...honest?

how is Orth any different than the likes of Don and Phil?
Honest_gamer  +   405d ago
Didnt he not get fired? and at the end of the day he was actually right....

I don't think it was mentioning being always online, rather, "deal with it".
MikeyDucati1  +   405d ago
Yea he prepared the people who didn't keep their ear to the ground. Rumors were out long before he said something. MS practices with the 360 has long suggested what they were doing. And also...it's MS. The people who were shocked apparently never knew or understood the arrogant business practices of MS
