At E3 2013, DICE executive producer Patrick Bach talked with IGN about how DICE planned to combat the trend of increasingly sterile military shooters, a genre that is arguably over-saturated.
COD 4 was the last good call of duty everything since then has been a run down copy made yearly to purge money from the masses of sheep.
IDK, I went back and played COD4 and it was a snoozefest.
"It’s not because you’re following a trend that you are successful. It’s probably because you’re sticking to what you believe in. Because then, and only then, do you have a chance to become the leader or the star, the thing that people actually care about. People will see that you have passion and soul in your product. And they’ll see if you don’t have it." Excellent response.
I don't buy it. Battlefield 4 is essentially Battlefield 2 the changes from 1942 to BF2 were massive. The changes from BF2 to BF3 were a removal of MANY BF2 features. BF4 is just them re-implementing BF2 features. DICE should be facing the same scrutiny IW/3arch are facing.
Well the same can be said for open world games medieval games with dragons or racing games everything has been done to death zombies are so fresh right now lol, I don't like that genre so I will attack you I hate platformers .
Do they release a new fallout or skyrim every year? no. (New vegas is an exception it was more of a fallout 3 mod than anything)
