The development of The Order: 1886 was in limbo for "years" before the release of PlayStation 4 dev kits, Ready At Dawn creative director Ru Weerasuriya told Polygon today.
If The Order:1886 becomes a succes Sony will buy RAD or atleast lock them down with a contract.
That didn't happen with Superbot. In fact they cut em loose.
You play that game? It was 4 years in development and everything besides the core mechanics looked like it was in alpha especially the menu's. They got cutloose because their game was subpar.
The first one wasn't that great which is why they got cut but I would love to see a new one made by the right company and include more Sony video game characters.
Ready At Dawn have been making the best PSP games for Sony for years, and it was always surprising to see what they managed to do with the hardware. Sony immediately recognizes quality and talent, and Ready At Dawn would be an amazing addition to their 1st party lineup. What's a dumb fighting game from Superbot or whatever got to do with Ready At Dawn? It's Ready At Dawn. Sony have hit them up so many times that if The Order exceeds expectations, an acquisition will follow shortly after.
Same goes for Quantic (Beyond Two Souls). Although David Cage has made it clear in the past that he only plans on developing for Sony platforms because Sony gives him freedom when he makes his games.
PC has more freedom than the ps4 does so how does that make sense?
@hd Maybe he doesn't wanna work on PC games?
Is this a launch title? If you go to gamestop they have it as one of the launch bundles
No, it's not a launch title. In an interview I saw, it was stated that they're aiming for a 2014 release.
I wonder if you ordered that bundle if they would just ship the console and then the game at a later date!?
reason? nothing in particular. it's just that I'm a huge fan of SSM and RAD!
I got Fall of Man vibes.
I believe this could be a sleeper hit for 2014 for Sony, and yes i also beleive Sony will buy them or lock them up with a good contract.
It looked really cool, I loved the style and setting of the game. But I would like to at least know what kind of game it is. They didn't give any info, at least that I seen on what the gameplay will be like.
I doubt they know atm Lol... Figure FPS or TPS. Both have their arguments. My only complaint is character design. Not very appealing. But the premise and game itself looks like, if executed properly, is going to make for fun and exciting title....
They said third person action game in an interview I saw.
Where those werewolves in the game?
I like the setting and idea of this. The bad human guy from the first Knack trailer and the Jazz singer from LA Noire fighting monsters in Victorian London. I'm just not totally sold until I see gameplay.
The Order, it's the game that caught my attention the most from PS4 Exclusives. I'm waiting for a gameplay and more info about it. Somehow I think it will be an awesome game, It's made by Santa Monica & Ready at Dawn. From the moment I saw it a got a weird vibe, I hope my instinct is right.
Can't wait to see and hear more about the game down the line!
