Microsoft Rolls Out XP SP3 to the Public

Microsoft Corp. Tuesday released Windows XP SP3 RC2 Refresh, a new public version of Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3), saying it was again testing the update's online distribution.

The new build is the second one offered to all XP users in the last five weeks. "The purpose of RC2 Refresh is to validate improvements to the Windows Update experience with Service Pack 3," a notice on a TechNet support forum read Tuesday afternoon.

The story is too old to be commented.

You should wait before getting this update. He is right. Wait for reviews before installing it because you never know.

I've actually been looking forward to the final release version. From what I've read it's a great update, and speeds up XP noticeably (system and gaming).

With that being said, I'm holding off on RC2 as I did with RC1 until reviews of the final version are out.

Lol guys. SP3 Beta's have been out for a while.

If you do a quick search on google you'll find people posting stories about it's improved performance. And even 1 or 2 benchmark charts showing it's performance compared to other systems and version.

I've been using Service Pack 3 (RC1 and 2) for several months now and it works fine.
