The 5 Biggest Surprises Of Microsoft’s Xbox Conference

FleshEatingZipper writes: There’s something magical you get when you attend a platform maker’s press conference. Yeah, sure, televising them everywhere has sort of diminished the point of being there a bit, but it’s where platform holders like Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo can make crazy announcements about the future of gaming. Rumors and speculation took the air out of some of Microsoft’s announcements, but there were some that caught our eye. Here are just a few of the big ones.

I was definitely impressed by Killer Instinct and MGSV (I'm a huge fan of both franchises.) People are gonna write of Project Spark as an LBP clone but, to be perfectly honest, I think it will turn out really cool.

Killer Instinct is being developed by one of the worst developers in the industry, Double Helix. you only hire Double Helix because they are cheap.

NewMonday1835d ago

$500

nothing bigger than this shocker, nobody saw this coming.

jjb19811835d ago

I wouldn't hire double helix to mow my lawn

Belking1835d ago

It's also being developed with Rare too. Stop hating dude, they actually showed live gameplay and it looked great.

$400-500 was expected. they just went with the high side instead of the low.

I would expect sony to price theirs about the same.

As for KI, there was talk but it was a surprise to see it. i personally like the new style even though i know many do not. Then again i also like the style of SF4 and Tatsunoko vs Capcom.

the surprise for me was Halo 5. why in the sand...? Is Master chief on a journey of new discovery or is he totally alone this time around?

jc485731835d ago

@Belking

game IS NOT being developed at RARE. Get that straight.

I think from the small games( project spark, Below, D4) to the big games (Ryse, DeadRising 3, titanfall, Quantum Break). It really looks like MS is hearing the gamers. How about the announcment for Xbox 360, 2 free games every month for the Xbox 360. That is pretty big as well. Now Xbox live not only is going back to its element but also offers so much. Kudos to MS today

PSN has been offering free games for awhile now. It's about time M$ got on board.

darthv721835d ago

PSN hasn't but PS+ has.

For the masses that didnt read the article, his last point is that MS' future with games looks brighter than Sony's because MS showed more games today than Sony did in their February reveal. That might be true, but why wouldn't they wait till tonight after Sony's show to post since Sony already said they've got over 45 games at E3 this year.

blackstrr4111835d ago

I'm still shocked. I never actually thot ms could do something like this. Now we wait articles like 10 thing ms did wrong on this site
