Marble Madness creator Mark Cerny was revealed as the PlayStation 4′s lead architect back in February, simultaneously announcing that he was working on PS4 title Knack. - PSLS
he's such a likeable guy. can't wait to see him on stage today. BF4 MP demo is coming up!
HE WAS SPEAKING JAPANESE! Nough said! That guy is awesome on so many levels, it's not even funny!
@US8F Actually, it's not a surprise... If you too were to work for a Japanese company, specially in such an important job, wouldn't you consider it wise to get a grip of the language?
BF4 MP gameplay was awesome. Exceeded any and all expectations I had. I've never really played BF games...kind of admired them from a far and been a COD guy. This is the year I buy a BF game for sure. That gameplay just sold me. The Commander option was much needed in online gaming and a smart move on their part. ON topic though: Knack looks awesome and it seems as though games that took 3 years will take 2 years...games that took 5 years may take 3-4 years. This lets them focus on making the game fun instead of having to solve problems constantly. The Map physics are amazing.
We're on a "Cerny Journey" and our destination is 6pm PDT. Few more hours People! My 2nd E3 viewing too. :D
I am so hyped for it, HIGH FIVE MAN!! I got a party planned just for the two hour long conference. Can't wait to see how the PS4 will look like, new features that have yet to be announced, all the awesome games that will surely impress, and of course the price.
Glad to see that PS4 is easier to develop on now, compared to PS3.
+bubble for you sir. The achilles heal has been removed. Ease of development is such a major plus for Sony, back that up with a diverse range of first party developer studios and you have a recipe for success. I have no doubt PS4 will pull better numbers than PS3 at retail for this very reason.
I wonder if he'll return for E3.
Well he said that at an interview at E3, so I'd count on it
For the conference? It's a good bet.
would love him to make a return and boast the system
Trust me, he'll be there lol.
Knack gameplay looks so much like Crash i love it.
That's his motive with Knack, to bring back that nostalgia you had when playing a game on consoles such as the PS1.
I love this guy ! he is a true genius !
Speaking Japanese like a boss!
and japanese is one of the most, if not the most difficult languages in the world ! Btw, Master Kojima cannot speak english:D!
He lived and worked there. He's an interesting fellow. https://www.youtube.com/wat...
great news, more time more stuff to add and polish
I will go apeshit if they have Crash Bandicoot readied up for PS4 at E3 later on. The internet will melt but one can dream.
will they unveil next gen ps move?
'Marble Madness creator Mark Cerny' Ah, so that's why we should know who he is. He made Marble Madness. Cool.
He was a teenager at that time, he's prodigal.
Think of him like JP from Grandmas Boy.... Minus the black trench coat, slicked back hair, douchey attitude, no personality... Scratch that... He's just an awesome programmer that loves what he does.

Major Havoc is one of the, if not THE, best vector arcade games ever made.
Didn't know that Mark had some work for California Games & Dick Tracy, two of my most fav games for genesis ^^
Marble Madness was a pretty fun game!
If you're old enough to have played anything other than COD yes that's why. He's helped created tons of games over his career. Crash, Spyro, Uncharted, KZ, God of War, Sonic 2. He's quite experienced. That did come of as bit douchey, not my meaning. Some education for the younger kids in here.
I've heard of Sid Meier, Jeff Minter, The Stamper Brothers and Will Wright before. I'd heard of Shigeru Miyamoto before, but I'd never heard of Mark Cerny. I guess, only being 36, I am too young to have heard his name before. Thanks for everything Mark. @wenaldy Oh I see, what does that mean then?
@tech He rarely directing a game, he mostly spends his time as a consultant.
Funny how they'd pick that one and leave everything else out. According to wikipedia, he has pretty decent portfolio of games he has worked. Includes many Psx and Ps2 classics. http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...
I really hope that is sarcasm Teddy ;-)
Mark Cerny seems like such a nice dude he seems like the kind of guy that would buy you lunch if you forgot your wallet at home.
Cant wait to run & pre order! Give me a price & release date please! PS4 games will look & play better than ever since devs have more time to polish & add
Same with me buddy! Here's to hoping the console would be announce at a lower price point then $499.
Your wish was granted :>
I know right! I literally got up and went crazy after the announcement of the price.
Sony are going to nail it tonight :D
Mark Cerny is the man, I hope he's at Sony's conference later also very happy the PS4 is easy to develop, it makes everyone happy the developers and the gamers, because we get great games
E3 tonight and i'm forced by my friend to watch Defiance.
I have a feeling that Sony is gonna show something that will make our jaws drop. They've been too quiet unlike the past E3s and plus, the unveiling of the PS4!
