Nothing about this looks new at all. The "next generation" of CoD looks exactly like the last one.

Innovation at it's finest ;) LOL

Honestly, after playing COD 4, I felt like I was playing a movie more than anything. If you enjoy playing these kind of games than all power to you guys but honestly, I rather watch some pro play the campaign on youtube, with my popcorn and soda. It beats some big budget movies and it is longer too!

Did You expect Rainbows and Unicorns ?

Sashamaz2012d ago

Rainbows and Unicorns would be a good place to start

nukeitall2012d ago

I don't care, it looked exciting as hell.

This is likely one of the launch titles I'm buying!

No offense, but you're bad at trolling. Leave those things to Mika.

brodychet2012d ago

Looks exactly like the FIRST one.

Hufandpuf2012d ago

Except the first one was better and revolutionary.

mmccarthy42012d ago

COD 1 was very different you mean COD 4

I'm not a fan of cod but at least they stay loyal to their fan base. How many other franchises have screwed up theirs sequels by changing everything their fans loved.

porkChop2012d ago (Edited 2012d ago )

They don't have to change everything and no one is asking them to. But they have to go with the times, they have to evolve their gameplay. Keep the features everyone loves, but you have to introduce new features that have a significant impact on gameplay otherwise it feels like the same game every year.

And that's exactly what's happened to CoD. They've all felt the same since CoD4, which was the most revolutionary CoD to date. The franchise is just getting extremely stale for a lot of people, myself included. I spent 2 years playing CoD4 every day, non stop. It was fun and addicting. With each new release they've all felt the same and I've spent increasingly less time playing each game before it got stale. I played Black Ops II for about a month before I got bored of it.

It's the start of a new generation, the series needs to see some drastic changes. It needs to feel new and fresh again. The CoD series has seen some big changes since CoD4. Theater, more prestige, benefits to prestige, more customization, etc. But they've all been outside of gameplay. The presentation and how you get to your matches, and what you do between them, has significantly changed. But once you're inside a match, it's the exact same tired game.

I mean 10 years later and they're still using the same engine that's based on id Tech 3 which was released in 1999 with Quake 3. Yeah it's been updated a lot, but it still has many of the same limitations. And they've already confirmed that they're going to continue using the same engine next gen. Next generation games with an engine 2 generations behind. That, to me, is just pure laziness.

I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.

Déjà Vu you say I've been saying that for years now.

cyguration2012d ago

The footage looked like someone regurgitated Battlefield 4 onto a disc and forgot to clean it.

No thanks. I'll pass.

Wait until you submit a story that generates 400/500 degrees. I used to think like you until my story was the top 5 stories of the day.
