MS has money. They will money hat (like they always do) and show off a million trailers for a million games (even if those games are multiplat, even if those trailers are "target renders", even if those trailers are faked).

there is no way ms can announce more and better exclusives games then whats coming out on the ps4, wii u, and pc. ps4 already announced more exclusives then ms has and e3 hasnt even happend yet. Also sony and nintendo and pc all have better devs then microsoft. look at naughty dog 2 games with 96% on metacritic and they are different ips. sony santa monica with god of war 3, little big planet 95% metacritic. mario galaxy, zelda etc. ms also will have the inferior mutliplats. im trying to see why some people are trying to get an xbox one or better yet trying to avoid better alternatives.

I disagree with the title as the e.t. game for atari has garnered that title on several lists, and for good reason...and if you want to talk consoles than one can bring up the virtual boy as a true contender... I do think his rant is a bit pre-mature seeing as how all the details are not released...
He also goes on to speculate how the 10 friends function will work, assuming that it's 10 friends that are somehow registered to your box. The release did state that you can share your game with 10 friends or family and "play the same game at any given time."... Now if it's how he assumes than how can more than 3 people play the same game at ANY given time off of 1 box??

The way i understand it is, i can have my friend or family in my "circle" and they have access to ALL my games from the CLOUD, which means that they CAN be 3000 miles away, log in and play, so can i.
If that is the case it also means that i can play along with them and they won't have to buy the game. Which in essence doubles everyone's game library to a certain degree as long as they remain in your circle. That alone is a very good advantage if it is indeed possible. Nevertheless, i'm sure it is a question that will be asked at e3. As for everything else, we'll see after next week i guess.

In all honesty, I think that's simply a case of people who are too young to remember it (or perhaps weren't even alive during that time) looking it up on Wikipedia and going "aha! E.T caused the crash of '83" (which isn't true, either). It's like people who think that Zelda II: Adventure of Link was a "flop", even though it got great reviews for its time and sold over 4 million copies. It was sold out for nearly a month in the USA.

i was simply talking about the title not about numbers. That e.t. game was put together in 2 weeks forced by the publisher and when the developer admittedly says the game is horrible and hated it from the start then you know it's bad. anything left was supposedly buried in a desert somewhere. I know it wasn't what caused the crash (i remember it well), the crash was already happening, but it pretty much sealed the deal...as for zelda 2. Doesn't matter if it sold 4 mil, if it didn't do as well as it's predecessor than it is seen as a disappointment. Same is said about music and movies. But that's neither here nor there.

Anyhow to call the xbox one as the greatest disappointment in history is a bit premature seeing as how it's not even on the market yet...i'm not saying that it will be great either. All i'm saying is that this video rant is premature is all...
What will he say 6 months from now IF the games are there, the price is there, and everything isn't as bad as people are making it out to be and the thing sells like crazy?... Just because the wind has picked up doesn't mean the biggest tornado in the world is around the corner.

How are ppl gonna play these games on the cloud has anyone thought about that yet? you know its impossible to stream a live game like cod online right ? Lets say you are a family member in the "circle" of friends that are allowed to play your games, they look in your shared game folder and decide oooo look halo 48 i might play that, they will have to Download that game from the cloud they cant just play it without the whole game being on their xbone, so thats a bit of a wait for the 15 to 25 gig games to DL then they can play it, and thats only if it works that way which i doubt it will.

I've been through a good five scenarios in the last 10 years of my life where I was left without an internet connection for longer than 24 hours.. in one case nearly a month. Don't defend something that can't be defended, there is just zero benefit of online checks for gamers.

All it takes is for you to move home and not be in a position to sort your internet out for your new place beforehand and then you're taking your console over to your friend's to show that you're a good boy to Lord Microsoft.

I won't lie, I have, more or less, perfect internet connection. The last time I was disconnected was for a few hours a few years ago, but I'm lucky. I also don't buy or sell games, I very rarely lend or borrow games and, genuinely, the DRM and restricted sales doesn't affect me.

I'm disgusted at the thing because, unlike some people and Microsoft themselves, I understand why it's a problem and I understand that just because I have had no issues in the past doesn't mean the potential isn't there to be completely without internet service. More to the point, I understand that not everyone has as much disposable income as I have where I can buy almost every game I want, some people have to be more reserved in their choices or they may have to give up a few games to get a new one or renting or borrowing may be their only real way to play games, it doesn't make them any less of a gamer, just not in a situation where they can afford to buy everything.

I also understand that used games were being blamed for reduced profits, but then Microsoft have handed the keys to the kingdom to the biggest "enemy" in GameStop meaning their policy hurts smaller retailers and independent deals more than anything else. I also understand the restrictions aren't going to result in cheaper games even though there's no "used market" draining any percieved profit.

Fundamentally, though, PSN was down at one point for nearly a month. Live is not some sort of fortress, regardless of what Microsoft would have you believe and every network has a weakness somewhere, there's nothing to indicate to me that Live will never, ever have issues.

If you don't care, it's a very selfish or foolish attitude to take because we are all in this together. It doesn't affect you now but once Microsoft stop providing authentication servers maybe 10 years down the line, you have a box with no way to play games on it and no one to acquire games you missed... you know, unlike every other console ever.

people seem to be jumping to the conclusion that these 24 checks means that if I unplug from the internet then the x one will not work. such as playing a single player game.

It works offline for 24 hours if your account is checked in from your primary Xbox until another check-in happens. Once that check in happens, you need an internet connection or your games will lock and not play.

If your account is signed in on a foreign Xbox, the check-ins happen hourly

As far as DRM and borrowing games M$ already has this in place whenever you purchase a title off of Xbox Live. The arcade games and On Demand titles require DRM and you cannot copy them over to another Xbox 360 in your house and play the full versions unless you also have your gamertag with them and then if you didn't transfer the license to the other Xbox 360 you have to stay online for them to play or the titles revert back to "trial" mode. Indy games are even worse as you have to be online to play those titles at all.

All I'm sayin' is M$ has already tested it out with the 360 and they made nothing but profit. Primarily from Arcade titles that aren't available on store shelves. From the numbers, enough gamers bought enough content with DRM and always online to warrant the features for the Xbox One.

I hate it but when people were warning people not to buy titles in the Xbox store, people ignored it. So now we spoke with our wallets and this is the future. Sucks to be us because Sony watched all that money pile up as well. I doubt they'll make a mistake by not charging online multiplayer like they did with PS3 and watch M$ pile up profit.

It will be interesting when Sony's details are out and the comparisons are available.

I see a bleak future where instead of owning what you bought it's a long term rental service that we're buying into. 10 years from now will we be able to access our games on XBLA? How long will these companies keep their servers up that support the games if something happens to your HDD or now the CLOUD?

There's a lot of trust being removed from gamers in my opinion and if enough people don't buy into it, we may save our hobby from certain doom.

No games, means no real sales for Xbox One. If you look at how many people are on XBL, how many play games Vs ones that don't? Odds are theirs more that play games then not.

With that said, if they screw over the gamers. They pretty much shot themself in the head and give up on this.

But I will say it doesn't change the fact I will get one later when it cost less, because Halo, Gears and Fable/Forza are games that I kind of enjoy sometimes. As for being online all the time and Kinect not really being off.

I won't shut off Kinect, but I will have it face the PS4 so Microsoft understands that I care about gaming more then this other stuff.

My nephew use to be a diehard X-box fan. He love everything X-box, but no more. After that reveal he went though a tranformation. He trade in all his games, and the system. Torn down all his posters. Doesn't want to talk about gaming in any shape or form. Now his new hobby is hi tech remote control devices. My sister even sign him up for MMA classes. Which I am totally grateful for. The Virtual Boy had bigger positive hype than this. Barring a few too-far-gone fanboys, corporate shills(still getting used to that word), and media apologists, the vast majority of the gaming world is extremely disappointed in the XBO.

Hell, I had fairly low expectations, and it still failed to live up to those: I was hoping for more of the 360, with a few new games. But my phone is as much a gaming console as the XBO.

They aren't doing it for spite. They are doing it because they don't want to support a company who shows a complete lack of respect for their customers. They are getting the PS3 for The Last of Us, by the way.

They know that Microsoft won't feel the sting of this, but they also know Microsoft will feel the sting of losing customers left and right. THAT is why they're switching.

Watching the 360 moving from gaming console with exclusive content to now the current gen media entertainment hub didn't reveal that either? That's what I don't understand. Besides the constant online connection and Kinect, the Xbox One is continuing the path paved by 360. But I get it, the problem is choice. Even though people are always online, they want the choice to be offline. I just have a small feeling that most will jump back to Xbox One. And I also have a feeling there are more people who like the Xbox One than those who hate it. But of course, internet backlash keeps them from admitting that.

Microsoft is in trouble-- they'd be wise to take some of this criticism and actually change their anti-consumer / anti-gamer draconian policies before it's too late.

I've already reinvested in a new PS3 and am getting used to the different controller as of last week.

My two Xbox 360's are sitting idle-- only to be used as a media streaming device from my laptop to my TV-- that is what you intended for us to do with your system, right Microsoft?

I will most certainly let my Xbox Live Gold account lapse, retire my gamertag of 60,000 (exactly) points, and trade both 360s in for a shiny new PS4-- the first chance I get.
