God of War: Ascension (PS3) Review | SuperPhillip Central

"Kratos is one of the angrier heroes around (seriously, he looks like he has a perpetual case of hemorrhoids), but even if he is somewhat unlikable, the fact that he can kick so much ass and look like a god doing it makes for an entertaining character regardless. The God of War series constantly throws in a tremendous story line of redemption and revenge, tremendous set pieces, and combo-heavy combat that makes fans return to the franchise time and time again. God of War: Ascension is the latest in the series, and the second new installment to hit the PlayStation 3. Does God of War: Ascension light up the sky like Zeus, or does it fall faster than a damned soul to Hades?" (God of War: Ascension, PS3) 8.5/10

SPOILER

Thought the last battle was a little confusing. How come you have to fight one of the sisters, but the other one is just a quick time event? Or did the earlier fights carry over?

Don't really like prequels but the gameplay for this game was probably the best one in the series. Still hoping to see gow 4 on the ps4 someday.

I agree. The gameplay in this one is very enjoyable. And this is coming from a guy who didn't really like the GOW series too much.

DO people really care this much for games 3 months after the fact????

And btw the game's story was a 7/10...multiplayer was like a 7.75

I really enjoyed this game.
Was it the best GOW game? no not at all but it was still great and I appreciated all of the new things they added to the series. Also some parts were really really epic and I had my jaw drop a few times. I also loved the more human/less angry Kratos. Some scenes with his wife were really touching and it was cool to see this side of him and a different layer to his character. Oh and the music tracks as always were some of the best in the industry.

Coming from a huge God of War fan, the single player to this game was awful. I havn't played the MP yet, though I heard it was pretty damn good, but the SP still just sucked. I'll give credit that the last boss was pretty epic, but the story overall contributed nothing to the universe, and was all about very small detail that I never really cared to know, or even thought about, in the first place. Honestly, for people who have yet to purchase, I would just wait for Sony to re-release the MP on the store and just go with that. The game might as well just be canon.
