Explosion.com's Dave Walsh takes a look at why E3 could be absolutely pivotal for Microsoft's Xbox One. Depending on how they handle the console here they could either satisfy the upset masses or just incite them further. Which will it be?
I agree. When the smoke clears from E3, it's the games that matters. If MS delivers the games then they will be in a better position that they were post-reveal. Evil
I'll buy XB1 long as the console offers software that catch my attention..
Ha you'll buy a console that won't even let you play a game that you borrowed from a friend and requires online DRM checks? WOW, gamers these days. Letting Microsoft control that fact you won't even own the games you buy anymore. You can't even sell your game online anymore. Most smart gamers would stay away from these anti consumer tactics but N4G never ceases to amaze me.
No offense. So you will bend over aslong as it has good games? Corporations must be happy that gamers would let their consumer rights be taken away for the next shiny. I cant wait for the class action lawsuit that is waiting to happen here in Europe.
Microsoft would have to have one hell of a line-up to make me forget about these: ***"With Xbox One you can game offline for up to 24 hours on your primary console, or one hour if you are logged on to a separate console accessing your library. Offline gaming is not possible after these prescribed times until you re-establish a connection"*** ***"In our role as a game publisher, Microsoft Studios will enable you to give your games to friends or trade in your Xbox One games at participating retailers"*** ***"Third party publishers may opt in or out of supporting game resale and may set up business terms or transfer fees with retailers"*** ***"Third party publishers can enable you to give games to friends."*** ***"Loaning or renting games won’t be available at launch, but we are exploring the possibilities with our partners."*** And I'm still waiting for someone to convince me how the above quotes are good for gamers.
Games won't cut it. This needs all it's anti-consumer policies reversed, including charging to use your own internet to play games.
any software they announce will be on other platforms wether it be the ps4, wii u, or pc and the pc and ps4 are more powerful so the games will play better on those 2 anyways. make the right choice.
Im going to be honest.... I hope both consoles do well but i don't think i like the fact that the X1 needs to be connected to the net every 24 hrs. For example i don't have my internet at the moment and would be pissed if i can't play my games. I just hope they change that policy. They can show games in 4k that would crap on any game. It wouldn't matter if i can't play it.
They could show jesus and usher dancing together and i would not even think of supporting Microsoft and their scams.... Fake audience cheers hiring people for internet reputation control content control unnecessary fee's lack of constant core1st party games Privacy and system requirements 2 AA batteries for xbox1controller
Gamers without self-control are going to destroy this industry... We keep blaming the so-called casuals (those people who bought Wii Fit and play Facebook games), but it's the core gamers. Core gamers are the ones who buy DLC and map packs. Core gamers are the ones who pre-order and buy the collector's editions. Core gamers are the ones who pay for Xbox Live. Core gamers are the ones who rush out to get a game Day One instead of waiting. You guys encourage everything that is greedy and wrong about this industry.
Well said mate.
Nothing wrong with getting games day one buddy, next week I'll be visiting the shops daily to see if it's there, and I will buy it once I see it, and there's nothing wrong with that.
This isnt Red Dead. there is no redemption to be had here. M$ made there choice and it is the wrong one. Now real gamers will make the right one and not purchase the xbox one.
LOL you made me laugh with "This isnt Red Dead"
Except this time they won't have all the focus. There will be other good news around the gaming community to drowned out either the bad or good news. Nintendo is smart with the Directs, they are for the gaming fans, not the media.
No more chances.
MS is beyond redemption with the shit they've pulled.
its way to late at this point. The Damage has been done, they can't repair what has been said and done. They cant do anything at E3 to impress me
I agree. Even if they released Phantasy Star Online 2 on the Xbox One i still wouldn't get it.
for me there is no redemption,if the xboxone has 3 games i like i just can see that making up for the BS that was confirmed yesterday, besides in the long run the system is gonna be a retro brick.
They are already beyond redemption at this point. it does not matters what they show at E3.
Games are all that matter.
Seriously people? WTF is wrong with you? "Games are all that matter." Really? Dang...I'm glad you guys weren't around during the suffrage or civil rights movements. That kind of attitude would still see women restricted to the kitchen and any non-white race as slaves or unfairly treated. Dang, this corporation is LITERALLY stripping you of your rights and setting a precedent in restricted consumer products and turning that into a leased service and you guys are saying "So how about dem games?"....REALLY?! lol, omg...this generation is doomed. You guys need to stop drinking the Mountain Dew and wake up and sell the foul, foul smell of Doritos.
^ THANK YOU! Seriously... ^ I say this shit all the time and sadly it feels like I am the only one though.. Good to see others in this world with some decency left in them let alone common sense.. Even if it is extremely rare.. Sadly they won't wake up, they will just order a Doritos taco from Taco Bell.. with a large Mountain Dew..
Bubbles to you sir. This is exactly it. The lazy people who don't care about anything or who are to stupid to realize exactly what is happening here. It blows my mind that there are people who are still ok with all this. Wake the hell up!
Haha that was a great comment cyguation. This is the one time gamers should stick together, what Microsoft is doing is wrong and we should all let them know it's wrong and that we won't support it. It's just gone waaaaaay past "wait till E3! they will have awesome games!" seriously who cares? I'll care when they announce they're going to scrap all of the anti consumer BS in the Xbox One. Then I'll be interested in their games.
I still think no amount of games for the X1 can justify the abomination that is DRM...
Actually their path to redemption started as soon as the Xbox One reveal was over. Until now they have only reinforced the concerns by revealing the DRM and Kinect scheme. Either MS's PR team is on holiday, or Sony's PR team is on holiday because MS is doing their work for them.
This $#!^ can't be redeemed. I don't care what game they show. They could show a game with full interactive, holographic fantasy and I would not touch it. As long as they stick to this DRM stuff.
Its game over. I soo hope SONY draws a line in the sand and refuses to go along with this. I will support them 100%. I am more than fine having less titles for the short term while publishers try to be exclusive to Micro$oft. In the end, the pubs need to be where the gamers (those who actual spend $ on games) are. I am partially happy that Micro$oft came forward and shed light on their plans in the best way they could PR spin it. I have literally been sick to my stomach since I saw the news however. How a company I have supported day 1 in all of their Xbox branded ventures (Xbox Live included, yes I got the 10 year avatar helmet, yaaay) could do this and what they are quite possibly doing big picture (ruining gaming) to a past time I have been participating in since I was a little boy getting my first NES in 1985 is so disturbing. All faith remains in Nintendo who we know are not participating and SONY where hope still remains. Xbox, you are truly dead to me. I hate you and never want to be near you again. They will not trick me with the games, for I know it is an illusion and those titles will dry up within a few years as it has with the 360. We gamers are not your focus and never have been. We were the pawns. Nintendo must be smiling/laughing/cackling right now rubbing their hands getting the money presses lubed up and ready to start printing $$$. Nintendo may have just found a power up mushroom. Please note... I am no longer a Gold Subscriber but a very very happy PS+ member
'I have literally been sick to my stomach since I saw the news however. ' I couldn't sleep last night. I saw the news around 6 and was up all night. This is every fear I had come true. People speculated, but I did not believe it would go this far. I didn't think any company would be that stupid or greedy, but they did. I got my NES at age 4 and have been playing ever since. It has always been my one true hobby and passion. All my faith lies with Sony now and what they will do. I can only hope for the best. But if they go the same route, I will not follow. 'Nintendo may have just found a power up mushroom.' After the Wii and after the WiiU reveal, I said I wasn't going to continue with Nintendo, even though I've owned Every single one of their consoles and handheld models. (except Virtual Boy) But it's looking more and more like I may have to go back on that decision. E3 is a couple days away. The gaming world will be watching.
