These are the top 5 games you can easily become emotionally invested in. Most of these games come from the Silver Age of gaming, specifically, the 90s and early 2000s.
My top three emotionally invested games this gen are... 1. Mass Effect (Shepard's relationship with the Normandy crew was great. I always'd made sure the Normandy crew survived) 2. Valkyria Chronicles (Loved the relationship between Welkins and Alicia. Also the whole supporting cast) 3. Uncharted (I rooted for Drake and Elena since the first Uncharted) I think I'll end up really liking Joel and Ellie in The Last of Us.
FFVIII for me. It was my first FF and is one of my favorite games of all time. I was 12 and I remember playing that game all night long. I couldn't wait coming home from school to play it. Playing FFVIII showed me that a game could reach me like no movie ever could. Thinking about it now makes me want to start a new game right now. While the game probably still is great those times when I first played it are gone forever. That's pure nostalgia.
Halo? LOLOLOLOL Okay, if you say so... but no Uncharted?
MGS 3. Broke my heart three times in a row.
Mind Jack and Alpha Protocol. These games were so horrible that I cried.
FF 7 - Aeris/Cloud FF 8 - Rinoa/Squall and Edea's story Metal Gear - Snake/The Boss/Big Boss/Meryl/Otacon & His Sister Dark Souls - Everything i'm sure there's alot more i'm forgetting
MGS & MGS: twin snakes (PSx, GC) MGS3 (ps2) Okami (PS2, Wii, PS3) Fragile dreams (Wii) ...
