Microsoft has made it optional for developers to have their games run in True HD or standard quality for the Xbox One. On launch, Forza 5 is the first game confirmed to run on True High Definition quality.
As an exclusive on their next-gen hardware, I would hope so!
The important thing is if it runs in 60fps
"We’re a huge, epic game that’s going to be running 1080P, 60fps on the next-gen console"
Well that wasn't a surprise. Forza 4 ran at 60 fps @720 I believe.
First good news for XBOX One in awhile. I'm still pissed about all the other stuff, but Forza is always fun, and with 1080p and 60FPS, it would make it even better.
That's pretty impressive! Now that this has been announced I still think GT6 should've been a PS4 game but oh well ;)
Gaming is a hobby you guys should relax with all the politics if X1 policies are a big deal for you its really simple dont buy a X1, Forza is so much fun and Im going to enjoy Forza5 despite the politics.
looking at specs, I have little doubt Xbone can handle a 1080p game, however I do have to ask... "Is this native 1080p, or upscaled?". GT5 claimed 1080p as well, but upscaled from a lower resolution between 720 and 1080p to pull that off. That said, the devs didn't try to hide that fact. Many games this generation were upscaled. the call of duty games didn't even run in HD natively, but were upscaled from a sub-HD resolution to 720p.
Good point frosty. 1080p is just the vertical resolution. GT5 ran 1280 x 1080 natively. You can claim anything is 1080p if that is what its vertical resolution is. Be nice to see if it does actually run 1920 x 1080 but I have my suspicions it does not and the horizontal is upscaled. Even 1280 x 1080 like GT5 is a reasonable boost though over 1280 x 720. Virtually 50 percent more. We'll probably have to wait until the thing is launched to see what it actually runs like. Especially after these rumours of downclocking the hardware etc. Digital foundry and Beyond3D to the rescue!
We may not have to wait for launch, any direct feed video is good enough for the pixel counters at b3d to be able to tell what the native resolution is, as long as it isn't a bullshot and is actual direct feed of the game being played. Not that a few pixels in difference is going to make this any better or worse of a game, but for tech junkies like myself it's still interesting to see what the hardware can and cannot do.
Newsflash!!! Almost every racing game on current GEN runs 60 fps!!........... So why not on next GEN
I wonder if they will have a playable build at E3 like Evolution will with DriveClub. Could be interesting to see the differences.
I'm gonna wait and see how next gen run and if there is a big gap betwen pc and next consoles i will buy pc.
Why should it be an option? Imo it should be mandatory simply because they have stronger hardware, with that being said wouldn't it be easier this time around?
i wan't an xbox1
True HD - means 1080i, Full HD means 1080p. Misleading title
I know Im gonna get dissagrees fro what Im about to say...but...whatever.. Im looking forward to forza 5 As far as all the whining about the always online stuff, enough already. EVERYBODY on N4G has a device that is ALWAYS connected to the internet. I got no problem with it apart from the fact that Im wondering what happens when they pull the plug and the console becomes a brick. and yes the used game thing is bullshit, but thats another tropic that is being beaten to death all over the place. Can we just appreciate forza 5 for a bit in this thread without hearing the same old argument? post the negative shit elsewhere if its not constructive and has nothing to do with forza 5 running at 1080P/ 60FPS.
Why enough already? You want to silence people for being outraged at MS? Welcome to not owning your PHYSICAL games anymore, at least on the MS front. If Sony do it, there should be just as much noise. How is that something to brush under the carpet and support? People NEED to make noise. People who are fed up should be thinking about the bigger picture rather than saying "it doesn't mater, we all have Internet". No a lot of people don't, and you shouldn't have to have a daily check on a physical disc. What if you want to play game discs you've bought, but can't afford Internet for say, a month, or longer? What about people who just don't have Internet? It's just a way for publishers to try and make money more than once off one product. CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays, Books, Clothes, EVERYTHING - You can use them without Internet, and you can sell them on your own terms, due to first-sale rights. Gaming publishers think they're special. It IS a big deal, don't ignore it. BTW I don't mind people being excited for games, but it's all for nothing, if it leads the industry to a place where we're being controlled by corporate greed, and no longer actually own our games.
How are the driving physics in Forza games? I've never played any of them. Are they comparable to the likes of Gran Turismo? Or do they take the arcady approach?
Well after I played many hours with both franchises, both are amazing at what they do best. Gran turismo for the realism (I'm using a g25) of driving and forza for the great customization options. I recently bought the microsoft racing wheel and I wasnt very pleased with the performance, but I'm assuming they're going to put third party wheel support with xbox one.
I've played both franchies to death and GT has the slight edge in realism, but Forza can handle it self and in some areas, beats GT, such as customisation, accesibility, community, friends/clubs etc. Forza 5 will be epic
the last legit entry in the franchise was Forza 4, and it definitley handles like a sim, if that's what you set it to (most Forza players that I know play it full sim). If your familiar with GT5, all the same gameplay and realism options are there from tire wear, fuel consumption, Traction control, ABS, steering, damage, racing line, opponent difficulty and race length... just depedends on what you turn off and what you turn on. But the short answer is yes.. Forza Motorsport games feel like a sim when you play it how its meant to be played. (Forza Horizon is the exception to the franchise, as t's an arcade/street racer, but still fun if your a car nut)
Can't wait, but please let me rent games Microsoft!
This is great news. I would buy this game if I get an XOne. I can't wait to see what other goodies MS has in store this E3.
Personally, 1080p isn't a huge deal for me, 60 FPS and higher detailed graphics is more important to me. As long as it looks sharp I'm happy.
If you've ever owner or driven a high HP car in real life you'll like Forza better. Just feels more realistic in Forza. Especially in the traction and wheelspin dept.
Forza is a game changer. Bring it on, MS!!
I love Forza.. It's my favorite sim racer since GT4, and Turn 10 are really talented and dedicated devs.. But, The XboxOne looks to be so sh*tty for gamers, that I am very much not interested in getting one ever, at this point. I will really miss Forza next gen... :-/
Looking forward to it, but besides it being 60 fps and 1080P, i also wanna know, how much cars in a race? The more the merrier! wonder if there will be more then 18!
