CryEngine 3 ready to give PS4 developers extra horsepower

Crytek have confirmed that their CryENGINE 3 technology is primed to act as a development tool for the upcoming PlayStation 4 system.

there is some opportunity, but i´m afraid all multiplats on CryEngine3 will look the same on all platforms due to financial reasons unless developers get a passion to make the best out of the best

agreed with @AznGaara even if multiplats are made to look equal on both systems frame rate is one area ps4 will have the advantage like jonathon blow said there may be a situation where games are running at 60fps on ps4 and 30fps on xbone. it's way way too early to confirm any of this is true or just how much of an edge the ps4 will have but looking at the current confirmed info we have that appears to be a likely scenario. MS is still tweaking clock speeds it appears whether they reduce it and play it safe or increase it and increasing the risk of over heating and failure rates we have yet to see.

They did buy Homefront. That is their new IP. Well there is also Warface coming to all platforms at some point I expect with this new gen.

Gameplay wise they should both be identical with abilities, but GPU wise PS4 likely will scale and enhance or add frames without even trying.

Will cyrsis 4 look/run better on ps4 compared to xbone that is the question. developers have tried to get games looking the same. xbox 360 multi-platform games were slightly better this gen mostly because of xbox 360 being used as the lead platform and devs having trouble with ps3 architecture. next gen ps4 is going to be more powerful and easy to develop for and because of x86 architecture pc may be the lead platform next gen. unless devs go with xbone as lead and port to ps4 and pc, meaning pc and ps4 exclusives will outshine multiplatform games. ITS either xbone with crap ports or underwhelming multiplatform games

I haven't see so much blatant trolling by everyone, ever. I know the One looks/sounds pretty bad at this point (I'm buying PS4 and don't even own a 360 anymore) but I think it's time people grow up. Yeah the PS3 got trolled when it was released however not by everyone all the time. This is really getting out of hand, nobody even tries to have a decent conversation, they just troll.
