Do you guys remember when 360 was all about good games?

Yeah.Me neither.

Gigaguy7771993d ago

Dark Souls
Castle Crashers
Alan Wake
Mass Effect
Yep. Nope. Yep. Was always about good games.

FlameHawk1993d ago

Those aren't even exclusive games, you only named Halo and Alan Wake, and you can get Alan Wake on PC.

UNGR1993d ago

Halo- 3, and Reach, 4 was a joke, it's population proves it

Skyrim- Self explanatory, not exclusive.

Battlefield- Self explanatory, not exclusive, also Sony had the timed deal with them, so that's an up for Sony.

Dark Souls- Great game, still not exclusive, bigger install base on PS3.

Castle Crashers- Fantastic arcade game, one of my favorites, and of course the shocking part to you, not exclusive.

Alan Wake- Bout time you got back on track with actual exclusives, and another good game.

Bioshock- great games, not exclusive.

Mass Effect- First one was up until recently when Microsoft caved and sold it due to it just being another way to cash in on it. Stupid of them to not keep it exclusive in the first place.

All in all your list kinda sucked. Good games, just not exclusive ones. If you're going to argue at the least do it right.

Most of these I've played and almost all are a bit overrated.

I'm own the 360 and the Og xbox....The games for the original xbox were much more fun and more creative than anything on xbox 360.

I mostly played FPS & Sports games on my 360 and other genres on other platforms.

Brazz1993d ago

ok, to be fair...
Early days xbox 360 was very good! Halo, Gears, Mass, oblivion are all exclusives ( no talking about pc) and xbox got the upper hand against Ps3 in almost every port.
Early days 360 > PS3, i have to say this, but...

Ps3 right now is better, Ps3 has better exclusives in number and diversity, in quality, some times, they are prety even, halo and Forza are the prove of this!
Ps3 good console, i love it, right now the best console.
360, very good too. early days 360 kicked ps3 ass, but this kinect focus bull shit and sony amazing work put xbox 360 in the shadow of ps3...

shutUpAndTakeMyMoney1993d ago (Edited 1993d ago )

U forget to add the last of us.

Oh sorry.

Halo = over used.
Skyrim = good
Battlefield = better than halo
Dark Souls = good but not better than demon souls.
Castle Crashers = huh?
Alan Wake = 2010 was a while ago and I got it on steam.
Bioshock = good on ps3.
Mass Effect = better on ps3.

Damn son. Ur last new AAA exclusive IP was alan wake in 2010.

At least multiplayer is free. Hmmmm

Ironically all but two of those titles are available on the other actual gaming system.

ShiranaiJittai1993d ago (Edited 1993d ago )

During the Xbox One press conference when they announced 15 exclusive titles. I knew two things. 1. half would not be console games. 2. Gamers both for or against xbox as well as indifferent would be making immediate comparisons to how many exclusives it had on it's first system. So knowing these two facts I took it upon myself to actually create a list at work when I was bored. The results were staggering. I only listed games that were at LEAST above average in quality and only were TRUE exclusives. I also only counted each series once.

First the 360 exclusives (I was more lenient with Xbox then Playstation so my data could NOT be contested. You will see what I mean.

Perfect Dark
Kinect Sports
Dance Central
Gears of War
Alan Wake
Viva Pinata
Banjo Kazooie
Lost Odyssey
Blue Dragon
Infinite Undiscovery
The Last Remnant
Ninety-Nine Nights
Project Gotham Racing
Mass Effect (formally)
Too Human

Ok so we have 21 exclusive series worth playing that are truly exclusive.

Now lets look at Playstation

Ratchet & Clank
Little Big Planet
Modnation Racers
Jak & Daxter
Sly Cooper
Valkyria Chronicles
Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale
Shadow of the Colossus
Gran Turismo
Atelier Series
Persona (excluding arena)
Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch
Heavy Rain
Heavenly Sword
Metal Gear Solid 4
MLB The show
Sports Champions
Medieval Moves: Deadmund's Quest
Wipeout (not the gameshow)
Little Big Planet Karting
Kingdom Hearts 1.5
Final Fantasy X-X2 HD Collection
Agent (if it actually exists)
The Last Guardian (If it hasn't been shot in the backyard like Old Yeller)
3D Dot Game Heroes
The Last Of US (Suck it Trebek)
Beyond: Two Souls
Tales series (Vesperia is exclusive in Japan for PS3 the other two aren't on 360 it balances out)
Zone of the Enders (formally)
Devil May Cry (formally)
Ninja Gaiden Sigma series (no one cares about 3)
Hyper Dimension Neptunia
Cross Edge
Trinity Universe
Mugen Souls
Twisted Metal
God of War
Ar Tonelico
White Knight Chronicles
Demon's Souls

21 for 360 and 49 for PS3
This doesn't even count the hundreds of Japanese only rpgs that never make it stateside.

As you can see 360 has far more exclusives the gamers claim they do, but it still doesn't hold a candle to Playstations.

I truly believe Xbox may reign in a good deal of exclusives maybe even get close to the number of the PS3 exclusives currently. The problem is that this is the smallest "exclusive lineup" Sony has ever had. the PS4 one will be at least 3 times this size due to Microsoft's difficulty to establish sales in Japan. The Cell Processor caused Sony tons of exclusives including but not limited to.

Metal Gear Solid, Devil May Cry, Assassin's Creed, Bioshock, The Last Remnant, and of course Final Fantasy. To name a mere handful.

gazgriff2k121993d ago

dark souls is a sequel to demon souls a ps3 exclusive. skyrim, battlefield, bioshock and mass effect are all multi platform and was on pc first. MS has never been about exclusive games like nintendo and sony. xbox introduced xbox live, a hdd and pc style games with pc style online play. xbox 360 was all about xbox live gold witch at launch was better than psn and steam then they started getting timed exclusive games and dlc. Now microsoft have gamers money and xbox gold accounts they moving on to the living room and casuals and saying thank you and goodby to gamers

The first few years after it's launch. (horrid failure rates aside) Don't troll just to troll, doesn't look good. It's had good games and it's people like you that like to pretend it's never had any at all. Yeah they messed up with the quantity, and the quality of recent titles, but pretending it didn't have a strong streak of games (first 3 years of it's life) is outright ignorant.

ThatCanadianGuy5141993d ago

Easy tiger! Where did i say it never had any games at all? I'm merely reflecting on days gone by, you know, when xbox was all about good games instead of kinect nonsense and pizza hut apps.

You're the one talking about how it hasn't had a good game since 2007, failure rates, and quality of titles.

batbatz1993d ago

Ill never forget my first red ring of death, other than that it was great

Stoppokingme1993d ago

I won't forget the first time I played Mass Effect and Gears of War, back in a time when M$ put games first.

sigh...We had some good times M$, but it's time to move on. It's not me, it's you.

GeisT1993d ago

You don't need exclusives if your multiplayer platform sets the standard for quality and connectivity. Play Xbox Live Gold for a month and then try to switch to PSN.

RiPPn1993d ago (Edited 1993d ago )

Played on both, and with the exception of voice chat, which I could care less for, they both use the same peer to peer networking, so there's really not much difference. Certainly not $60 a year worth. And with the PS4 the voice chat advantage is gone.

Now pay $60 for Live Gold, and switch to PS+ for $50 and see which one makes you feel like it was money well spent. Here's a hint, removing paywalls and voice chat isn't worth $60, but Microsoft sure did market you into believing it is.
