When it comes to the next generation consoles that we are all looking to get more information about at E3, do we think that as of right now, the PC may have met it's match? Is it time to start thinking of an upgrade?
As a PC gamer, I do have to admit that the PC has met its match vs these new consoles that are coming out. Only for this year though, than we will see Crysis 4, or the next big game on PC that will be beyond anything the PS4/XboxOne will be able to push.
I will be good to see what happens when Gddr6 and ddr4 comes in 2014. http://computerstories.net/... The new console make actually boost pc a lot. Games could start on pc and work down I hope.
No. PC will always have the graphical prowess no matter what consoles do. Haven't we been over this.......for decades? Consoles get better every Gen, but as they evolve, PCs get upgraded by their owners 3fold. That said, many prefer consoles. You prefer what you prefer. I do not prefer the direction Xbox is going. It is hurting our favorite hobby.
We will see about that.... Specially when you have magnificent developers like Naughty Dog on board with PS4. No one does excellent and astonishing video game magic like they do. ND and X89 PC game hardware specs who knows what magic they can do with that power.
They certainly make beautiful and immersive games. My favorites actually. But from a purely hardware power perspective, PC will always be leading the way. It's just the way the world is set up. CPU and GPUs evolve much quicker than consoles do. I prefer console gaming myself, but when you look @ a game like Skyrim on PC vs PS3 or 360, there is absolutely no comparison. Hands down the PC version looks and runs miles better.
WTF is X89?
Not really because the consoles are trying to adopts PC's practices like DRM. So in other words, the consoles are looking to lose to PC at the rate at its going.
See this is the kind of stuff I'm talking about. Just stupid.
No. In fact, with the way consoles are moving to handling used game sales and controlling content, it looks like PC is a generation ahead of consoles on so many fronts.
Another one of these articles? Are you TRYING to start a PC vs console war? Please don't. Such conflicts will only end in trolling, gifs, blood, sweat, tears, and crushed egos.
Yes, they are. Anything to get site traffic
pc met it's match when microsoft released windows 8.
The PC is a dynamic platform when it comes to specs, consoles are not, hence its like apple's and oranges. I like to have both.
Well, it depends on what defines great games or gaming platform for you. Many people seem to quickly assume, sadly, that because of the better hardware available for the PC then that equates to a better gaming platform or games. Hardware only gets you so far i.e. graphics, AI, physics etc... basically the ingredients. But you need a good cook to get the best out of those ingredients. A great cook can still do better with limited ingredients that a shitty cook can do with the best ingredients available. Just to add, i own a PC and PS3, love them both for the gaming experiences they give me, im not a retarded fanboy and dont care about these stupid little "wars".
By that time microsoft & sony will be dealing with cloud processing
Not that i can see. I would even justify that a weaker PC than next gen consoles would be a worthy choice. Now before you all roll on the pain of the hate train hear me out. PC games are more optimized than ever, you know how console gamers always say "it looks bad because launch titles are unoptimized" PC games dont have this phase. And even if a game doesnt run well on your computer you can turn down a setting or two and it runs silky smooth. This prolongs the life time of PC hardware, such as the old 8800 GTS, this card is 6 years old and can still play any game on the market. Theres also the fact that games are cheap on PC. AAA games launch at $50, and just as often than not offer a 10% discount to pre orders. Then theres the amazing pay what you want offers, the steam sales and so on so forth. And ALL PC games are backwards compatible, and there are third party solutions like emulators. Theres also a VERY strong indie scene on PC offering innovative games for $5-$15. And even the perspective of graphics isnt a solid comparison, PC games always have settings outside the game like shader mods, AA settings, AF settings, SSAO configurations, 3D support for nearly all games, support for up FPS beyond 60. The list goes on and on, its just a matter of how much money you want to spend as far as graphics are concerned.
Thats one heavy mouse lol
