Randy Pitchford claims they once discussed selling Borderlands 2 golden keys for real money

Any “Borderlands 2” fan knows that Gearbox Software regularly hands out SHiFT Codes for golden keys inside the popular co-op shooter. According to a comment by Randy Pitchford, the Gearbox Software President revealed that the developer has discussed the idea of selling golden keys for real money in the past. Pitchford is clearly against the idea of monetizing loot inside “Borderlands 2” as he stated, “I’m not sure I’m ready to cross that line.” (Borderlands 2, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

You know what I'd love for them to discuss? How about the major frame rate issue plaguing most Nividia players? If my laptop ran this game at a solid 60fps for the entirety of the main game, the dlcs and patches shouldn't ever cause it to hit below 10fps. That's just stupid.

I just don't think Randy, and Co, should be trusted with any sum of money.

I'm shocked Sega haven't asked them.."Where'd the cash go?"

I'm surprised that they sold the game for real money with all the bugs it has.

It's one of the best games I've played in years!

Huh? Nothing unusual, and nothing game breaking. I don't know what you are getting on with, but I'm guessing it's the gearbox hate train because A:CM sucked.

yeah, it seems like it was designed for that. Glad they didn't do it.

That would have come off as the biggest money grubbing DBag move since the invention of Season Passes and Codes to play your game online....I'm looking at you EA and THQ. Dicks

Sell the keys only to Karl. He likes it that way.

The only thing worth the money has been the first two DLCs and Krieg.

Most of what you get from shift codes are crap weapons if you're high level. Very rarely, you'll get a nice shield or grenade mod.

BTW, don't bother with the paid hard mode unless you have a reliable slag weapon, and even that might not be enough. Enemies have health in the millions but you're stuck with marginally better weapons than that of the previous vault hunter mode...

randy stayed above the money-whoring influence and for that, we thank you.
