The Vowel writes: "ICYMI, Xbox Live is now letting you know after we've taken action on a complaint of yours..."
Action = deleted message, added user to spamlist.
I like the idea of them notifying us if action was taken... Steam I believe does the same thing.
Hmmm... I've been getting those messages for over a year now.
I never got that once.
Then they didn't take action on your complaint
ive never gotten anything like that ever ? thats a little weird that wikiid666 makes it sound like its normal to get those messages
The complaint system is rated. The more verified complaints the more your complaints are looked into. If you make a bunch of complaints that aren't justified they won't take any action towards future complaints.
ahh ha f***in noob's are trippin.
Dafuq is dis.
If your Xbox Live account is locked/barred on the One, do you lose access to your games?
Uh, good question, I never thought about that one. I hope not, locking online interactions with any public online just temporarily would work. Losing access to your games or/and non-public online features like netflix, tv, etc......that wouldn't make any sense.
you only lose access to online portions of your games(like being a silver). Now if you dont have the license for "said game", on your HD that no you cannot play.
If the person gets banned for hacking, they should damn well lose all of their games. Steam is the only platform I know of that does this and I'm glad they started it. Hackers don't deserve to be gamers.
I'm taking about swearing online, etc. I'm just wondering what might happen in that situation.
Probably just get your account suspended for a couple days for that. Not entirely sure though.
For live it depends on your "Zone", Pro and Underground can get a away with non-discriminatory insults, but the other zones can and will get you banned. As far as cheaters go, if you get caught all your achievement points get wiped, your unable to earn those back and in your motto you get labeled "Cheater" for everyone to see.
i'd rather they tell me what type of action they took. Tell me they made them walk barefoot on broken glass and poured lime juice on their wounds. Tell me they dipped the person in honey and stuffed fire ants down their pants... if that can't be done at the very least tell me that person's gamertag will carry the label "loser" in every game they play so the rest of the world can see and mock them accordingly... yes, there is a bit of irony in my last "punishment" but tell me that wouldn't be fun. But in all seriousness some kind of Label on their gamertag would be suitable for a period of time similar to how sex offenders need to register where they live with their local county.
Why report people online? It's not like you know them or they know you, have fun. If you don't like what someone is saying mute them, if you don't like what someone is doing vote to kick them. No need to be snitches just because you can't take a joke or you don't have the same sense of humor.
So it's OK in your book for someone to say/post racist slurs? OK to say vulgar things that children can hear? Sure, you can mute them, after they've heard it. Too late then. people shouldn't say or do anything they wouldn't do in front of XBL support.
Never said it's okay but you can't stop freedom of speech, or how someone talks. Buddy... kids hear that language used in schools everyday, in media ect. That kid who's reporting is likely not even old enough to purchase that said game..that M rated game which already has violence, foul language and adult topics... Your logic is kinda skewed and if the parents have a problem with it they should take that game away.
I don't know what the big deal is. Instead of banning them which is a dumb idea. Just put them on mute for a year and let them keep gaming. If they want to be unmuted pay to have that service activated again.
I've gotten quite a few of these. At least it SEEMS like they are doing something.
@Oh_Yeah....Freedom of speech doesn't mean you can't be punished for what you say, it simply allows you to say it. Again, just because Timmy hears bad word in school ,doesn't make it OK on XBL either. It's wrong in both places and both should be punished.I'm a grown man, and not a kid but age doesn't mean maturity in every case either. Let's say the guy who's racist is some 26 year old clown and the guy reporting him is 16 yet mature enough to understand right from wrong. While I wish the kiddies couldn't play mature games, unfortunately I don't know of a way to stop it.
