Letting your friends play your games for you on Xbox One

The Xbox One will apparently let your friends jump in (upon being invited of course) and play your games for you. Do gamers even want this happening at all? Will you earn Achievements for their work? Will they earn extra Achievements for their work? Or will no Achievements be earned? X1A takes a look at this potential feature.

Would be cool if they can implement it well I guess. TBH how many situations is there when someone would think to actually use it though?

JokesOnYou1933d ago (Edited 1933d ago )

Hell no! That's weak, why the hell would I want somebody to play and earn achievements for me? I mean I understand asking for advice but if I can't do it myself then it can't be done.....I must have a bad copy.

Wuket1933d ago

Yeah I guess it's OK to have it as a feature, but probably won't be used much at all by anyone!

I could think of situations when people offer those desperate enough to get past something to do it for them.... for a fee

Same thing can be said of going to a site like GameFaqs and using a walk through guide you to stuff.

Some people like the help. Some people pay to buy those nice strategy guides. Some don't. More power to you and better gaming skills to you if you don't have to. But sites like that and guides like those wouldn't exist if people didn't like and use them. This feature is very next gen, and a cool thing for those who want to use it and need help.

Who knows... maybe there will be some kind of thing where there's two of the same cheevo, just one says beat it yourself, and one says had help from other.

ShinMaster1933d ago (Edited 1933d ago )

But now you have the option to do it online.

It's also another one of the feature Sony introduced with the PS4, along with controller/player tracking for split-screen.

StoutBEER1933d ago

I think it would be awesome if i just wanted to watch my friend play, say a Dead Space game, and laugh as he pisses his pants :) Hope its true would be a cool feature

titletownrelo1933d ago (Edited 1933d ago )

I was playing Zelda: Windwaker on Gamecube, and I COULD NOT F*CKING FIND THE DAMN SUBMARINE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE EFFING OCEAN! I never beat that game, [sad face]...

PS4 has this feature to, for like if your stuck or whatever, A friend can jump in and Help.

JoGam1933d ago (Edited 1933d ago )

My question is.... Is this a fact or opinion X1 will have the feature too. At the top says opinion.

adorie1933d ago

Yeah, Sony announced this first. Yawwwwwn.

BitbyDeath1933d ago (Edited 1933d ago )

"My question is.... Is this a fact or opinion X1 will have the feature too. At the top says opinion."

Not 100% confirmed but is expected.
I read an article on Polygon who mentioned it but then MS retracted and said the features will be announced later.

EDIT: Found the article.

Update: Microsoft responded to Polygon with the following response: "In the days since we announced Xbox One there has been a lot of random speculation about various features and potential future scenarios for Xbox One. We look forward to sharing more details at a later date, but aren't discussing anything further at this time."

thechosenone1933d ago

Sony should have kept quiet about this feature until E3.

waltercross1933d ago

It was announced in Several Articles including Live Streaming to your friends and Allowing them to comment in real time or take over the game. This was posted in several Legit Articles.

People keep asking this like everyone is a hardcore gamer, or as if a younger sibling would never ask for help, or whatever the case may be. I'm sure there are plenty of people in different situations who would use this.

andrewsqual1933d ago

Pity we won't learn anything about this CONSOLE feature at E3 as it will be all about the games. If only Microsoft hyped up some sort of event, a reveal if you may call it, that could have showed off such a feature.
A man can dream, a man can dream.

Nice of them to follow Sony.Really is a great feature.

kennyg37391933d ago

Microsoft didn't follow Sony on this feature, just because Sony announce it first doesn't mean they came up with it. I'm pretty sure both of them how this feature in mind when they were building the console.

ThatCanadianGuy5141933d ago

I totally agree, man.

It was nice of them to follow Sony in bringing us this nice feature.

Outside_ofthe_Box1933d ago

***"just because Sony announce it first doesn't mean they came up with it. I'm pretty sure both of them how this feature in mind when they were building the console."***

Glad to see that someone finally has this mentality.

MikeMyers1933d ago (Edited 1933d ago )

This was actually something you could do years ago on Windows. You could (and can still do) let people take over your computer.

Maybe EA will charge for this feature on their games?

theWB271933d ago

Can't feed the trolls buddy. I'm sure they know there was no way Microsoft implemented this feature a month after Sony announced without having planned for it first.

Ticklez1933d ago

It's funny, I'm a playstation fan but fuck, you guys take this sh't to some other level. Kenny's right, just cuz Sony announced it first domestic mean they came up with the idea. Hahahaha it's hilarious how much you guys just hate ms.

ShinMaster1933d ago

Such double standards.
If it was the other way around, people would be saying Sony ripped it off. And NOW people wanna play nice?

DOMination-1933d ago

The difference here though is Sony only had it first because they had their reveal first. Its not the same as trophies where they clearly just shoehorned into the ps3 years after release.

Virus2011933d ago

It's never "who said it first", It's "who does it better".

cell9891933d ago

no Im sure they are getting some inspiration from Sony, this wont be the only thing theyll try to imitate. Not that Sony hasnt done that either, example: trophies

IBleedXbox1933d ago

it doesn't matter. battlefield has destructible environments and now COD ghost is doing it. so people don't care. all we care about is which one is the better console or the better game

ThatCanadianGuy5141933d ago

I'm not sure why you guys are taking what i'm saying out of context. Not trolling here or anything

I'm just saying, it was nice of Sony to announce this feature. And it was nice of Microsoft to also announce this feature.

T21933d ago (Edited 1933d ago )

I wonder if this applies to multiplayer games... I will become a hired mercenary on battlefield 4...

vickers5001933d ago (Edited 1933d ago )

That's a neat idea. Get paid play and unlock weapons and gear for those who don't have quite as much time to do it themselves.

LuditPRIME1933d ago

Example: Hey Brian I no longer need my testicles please can you exchange it with a vigina by playing my game for me.

This is a stupid idea and is counter productive!

xDHAV0K24x1933d ago

If its not mandatory wtf u care?

LuditPRIME1931d ago

I dont care but a stupid idea is still a stupid idea.

PerryCaravello1933d ago

PS4 already has this ability. It was talked about during Sony's February conference.
