From gamerstemple.com: The Gamers' Temple was able to spend a little time talking about Fuse, its past, present, and future, with Ted Price, Founder and CEO of Insomniac Games.
This is what happens when u ditch exclusively deal with it boyo
What a disaster, Insomniac.
Ah insomniac now you can go back to Sony. How about you guys work on Resistance: Fall of Man 2?
@thefallenangle Have any of you guys heard the rumor of a fallout between Sony and IG. On Neogaf theres a rumor about Insomniac signing a exclusive 2 game contract with Microsoft.... If thats true then thats quite a betrayal.
insom are my fav devs but if they do that then ill be disappointed ! but i do remember when resistance 3 was about to come out and sony decided to advertise uncharted instead and no R3
Ofcourse Sony is gonna promote the bigger seller. Insomniac screwed that up when they made Resistance 2 which got plenty of advertisement and left most fans a bad taste in the mouth. Then when 3 came out they ditched the only good thing about Resistance 2 the multiplayer and made it generic. AFter that it was just downhill with All 4 one and that shitty tower defense game and now the massive bomba Fuse.
Thats ok let them go cause from the looks of fuse, they're a bomba studio heading for ios/android lmao
I dont know could be true and a stupid move. It could happen but i wouldnt care they used to be on par with Naughty Dog in the PS2 early PS3 era. Right now Naughty dog is so far above them they need a ladder to reach them. I dont think Insomniac gets that their fans are on Playstation but they arent gonna follow them to the Xbone.
Insomniac have been in steady decline for sometime now, at least in my opinion, Fuse looks to be nothing more than disastrous for them. If they dont improve, I could honestly see them struggling to see the next generation out, that or they'll diversify into more social/mobile type developments.
Should have left it as Overstrike. As someone that actually owns Fuse, it's actually not that bad, but it had way more personality when it was Overstrike and the game would be much cooler if that personality was still there. When they announced it as Overstrike, there was a buzz, because it had charm.
Even when it was Overstrike, next to no one was talking about the game. It was just "there". Even if the game kept the Overstrike style, it most likely would've still bombed. It wasn't until after they changed it to Fuse that people went back and suddenly started talking about how Overstrike was better, even though it was just one pre-rendered trailer and some CGI concept art, lol.
I remember the response after E3 and people seemed pretty intrigued. I know I was pretty excited back then.
Dont know why you're getting disagrees Naroon, as you're 100% right.
It also had a soul...then EA and Insomniac ripped that games soul and made Fuse :C
Their last AAA was tools of destruction in my opinion. Since then....good but not great games. R3 was good but hardly the best FPS out there...
i reckon their best 2 games this gen are Resistance 3 and Acit
No, Fall of Man was their best game. It soled extremely well, was received well by fans and critics.
I'm just wondering, but did you play A Crack in Time? That was my favorite game in the entire R&C series.
Resistance 3 was excellent!! I do not know what game you are talking about. Not the best FPS out there? lol your probably a COD player..
Insomiac is interesting in the choice that they made with Fuse. When they first show the game people loved the art style back when it was called Overstrike. Instead of keeping that look and playing off that vibe they proceeded to kill the art style people liked and give us Fuse instead, a game that looks like any other generic game with interesting weapons. This is the complete opposite of Gearbox that stumble unto the art style of Borderlands and immediately knew that this was something special. That fact makes me seriously question if Insomiac still knows what it takes to make a great game. One of the most basic business moves is to give people what they want while differentiating yourself from the rest of the crowd. The face that Ted Price made such poor decisions with Fuse worries me a lot more about the future of this company.
How did insomniacs main team create a masterpiece like R3 then end up with FUSE ! Brian Allgiar should go back and take over ratchet and have marcus smith to take over their main teams ip !
I hope this gets them to give up on the Coop games, Insomniac really shines when they focus on solely single player games.
