Fighting Fundamentals with JD - Learning the Basics

PixlBit | "You’ve got your game and you’ve got your character, so the next step is potentially one of the most difficult – learning the basics. At this point, assuming you’ve fiddled around with the game, and at least have a handle on the game’s systems, there is still a lot to learn in terms of playing the game properly. Learning the basics at times makes people feel like they don’t know how to play the game at all. It can be frustrating, but the payoff is well worth it, because not only will it you progress in your game of choice, but it will improve your success rate with many other fighting games."

Nice article, Let me add few things to help beginners.
1- Understand the game mechanics.
2- Search online and find a beginners friendly character which you feel that it suits your mentality.
3- Learn about frame data, moves properties "specially in 3d fighting games like tekken". It will improve your defence & attack.
4- Start learning short easy combos, then level up.
5- check all characters, get yourself familiarized with them.
6- Play through story/arcade mode on normal, once you get used to it then go for hard.
7- Play with people, each person have different way in approaching the game. This will improve you over time. If you're lucky and have friends with great skills then play with them a lot, ask them for advice.
8- Seek tournaments vids in youtube, try to analyze and understand how pro play and learn from.

I hope this will help.
