Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen Review | Next-Gen Gaming Blog

Despite all of the negativity, those who didn’t play the original title would be wise to plump for Dark Arisen; Dragon’s Dogma remains a wonderful game – doubly so at this bargain price point – and it is certainly the definitive version of the title for now. For those who did play it though, there’s very little to recommend buying all over again – what little new content there is only serves to draw the spotlight back on to the game’s weakest areas rather than the strongest, and whilst some performance and UI tweaks are welcome, they don’t even begin to touch on the bigger issues the game still bears, and they are certainly of no recompense for the much more immediately obvious squandering of potential.

I'll pass on this and get the Super Enhanced Ultimate Arisen Edition in September.

A good game with a lot of promise to be had in expected sequels. The Dark Arisen expansion is lots of fun as well.

Great game. Only thing preventing me from playing it more is my backlog.

I haven't been this addicted to a game since Demon's/Dark Souls. I completely missed out on the original release, so Dark Arisen is a welcomed edition for folks like me. Really looking forward to the sequel.

This is a VERY good game that just falls short in a few areas that prevent it from being a great game, still doesn't change the fact that most will have a great time playing it.

It combines so many gameplay elements that should be in all action games/ TPS's, meaning it allows you to do the most basic movements that so many games in it's genre do not.

nothing worse while playing an "action" type game and you can't even jump/sprint/dodge/etc...
