Non-Fiction Gaming writer Blueonblue discusses what makes or breaks a console. Will the latest generation of consoles live up to the hype or the hate?
GoldenEye 007 Remaster gameplay has surfaced showcasing the campaign and multiplayer! Lleaker states that the game will be released sometime this year.
GamerBolt: "We’re going back to the age where online features didn’t really exist and using split screen was prime."
Online gaming will always be inferior to split-screen gaming. You don't get that same interaction without the person physically being there with you.
To me, multiplayer is best with your friends or siblings there right beside you.
I remember the hours upon hours me and my brothers spent playing Mario party or halo on campaign co op on the original Xbox.
With online multiplayer, you don't get to celebrate or high five the person next to you when you do something awesome. And frankly the whole online thing is ruined anyway with a bunch of potty mouthed teens acting like they're adults and calling everything gay or something immature like that.
Maybe I'm just getting old but I miss the gaming i grew up with so much. I still love it now but it's changed so much over the past 10 to 15 years.
I have played countless hours of goldeneye, fire pro six men scramble, no mercy, bomberman and halo 16 player lan while lugging CRT tvs everywhere......you have to be insane to say you would rather do that than online gaming
I still have my, Genesis, 32x, Saturn, Dreamcast, Game Gear, PS1 and the first Xbox. All of them have games, Sega systems have the hard to find ones.
A closer look at how splitscreen gaming went from gaming mainstay to neglected sideshow as the cloud took over - but with the rise of second screen experiences in the living room, it might just be on the way back. A game of TowerFall, anyone?
DEAD SINCE 05 ? But we want it back. At least some games offer online split screen . ( halo )
It was hard enough finding split-screen games last gen and I fear this gen it will be next to impossible.
Good old split screen, so many memories. I loved to play games that had split screen, so me and my cousin can play especially co-op like the Twisted Metal 4 series . Even sharing the same full screen like bomberman, fighting force, crash bash, etc.
I miss split screen so much. Got 2 PS4 controllers and 2 X1 controllers and no opportunities to use them both.
That sound good, but I thought it was sales.
Better hardware = better quality games. You can lie to yourself all day but graphics do matter for good immersion like crysis 1, 2 and 3, half that game is graphics.
A good example of games that I think were severly hurt by the consoles is the fallout and skyrim series. The xboxs crappy hardware was the reason they didn't do open cities and have more NPCs and larger areas. Theres mods that do away with the loading screens for cities atleast and they work perfectly on PC.
