Halo 2 Retrospective

How does Halo 2, one of the most popular FPS games for the original XBox, hold up almost a full decade after its release? (Halo 2, Retro, Xbox)

I had so many LAN parties where we would play just this game. Good times.

Maybe, could be this years halo and the 360's last. It would certainly be nice for halo fans especially if they keep the same multiplayer maybe with a couple things from halo 4.

Although it worries me because they want to draw attention to the xbone but ignored backward compatability which was a huge selling point for the 360 being promised to have halo 2 playable day one. A lot of people plus myself got a 360 day one played what launch games we got then jumped onto halo 2 to talk about it. That won't happen this time so a lot of sale will be missed with both ps4 and xbone because of that.

Hope halo 2 anni comes out for 360 though but well see at e3 if Microsoft will keep their promise of supporting the 360 for 5 more years.

Halo 2 had so many maps and 80% of them were really good. I hate when dev's limit maps toa certain amount every time.

Give us 25-30 maps in these FPS.
halo 1&2 are definitely the best in the series. halo1 splitscreen till the crack of dawn with roommates, then when xbox live came around my life literally stopped as halo2 took everything lol. good times.

xbox live and Halo 2 was a big game changer.

I couldn't afford xbox live so instead I used tunneling software like xlinkkai. 4 player splitscreen "online"-lan was awesome.

I was a Sony fanboy until the current gen.....prior to that i didn't understand the power and strength of halo...

Got a 360 before the PS3 came out.....The multiplayer especially 1, 2 and 3 were amazing and is the one thing Sony is unable to match....

Clocked well over 5000 games of MP this gen....lots of fun times....

I don't think any multiplayer shooter could outmatch how fun and revolutionary Halo 1 and 2 were.

I was all about Halo 1, for Halo 2 I was first in line at my EB games at launch, got it home, played it got half way through and thought Halo 1 was way better...(campaign)

Years later I replayed it and feel totally opposite now, I would take Halo 2 over Halo 1.

Halo one had too many levels of back tracking and recycling. I liked Halo 2 better as well.

Enjoyed Halo 1 the most. Original and fresh.

As for other FPS type things, nothing anywhere could match QUAKE3 speed, maps, on PC. One of the best MP games ever made.

But BF3-4 is best MP atm.

But i'll be checking out DESTINY. I think Bungies new game will be better.
