Part of the enjoyment is not only watching your Sims enjoy your new joy land, but also managing it to ensure your rides and concessions are laid out for optimum fun and profit, turning you into a dual Mayor/theme park operator.

It's a game within a game in order to get your amusement park to succeed. Having the amusement park in your city also brings in more tourists, allowing you to take your tourist cities even higher. Just make sure you have a lot of mass transit options (buses, trains, airports, etc.) to bring in all those tourists.' (PC, SimCity)
