If you're prepared to spend top dollar - about $2,000 - you can get one of these sleek and light cutting-edge laptops.
Like comparing apples to oranges...
but seriously who would prefer MAC OS over XP/VISTA I am a PS3 fanboy but i love XP /VISTA too MACBOOK is a ripoff just like every other apple product
who are you and what have you done with the real doodle??
I hate apple products specially the ipod and iphones they are huge ripoffs. Sony VAIO will always be the number laptop in the world, nobody will ever beat that.
and yet the macbook pro for the same price as the Viao eats it alive... If you want to compare Apple products - compare the system to it's logical target. Who's idea was it to not include a drive in the Apple Mac ?
I think this is the best feature of the Mac Air. Why I need a built in hieroglyph reader -- or any other obsolete media reader -- if I can save weight? Anyone who have to carry a laptop all day long would gladly save weight, especially in exchange to a reader that it is rarely used in the field.
Until Apple remember to tell everyone that Macbooc Air is a Blogger type Laptop. -ment for being light to lug around. -Only do the things u would need it to do wile u away from a Desktop. -More or less be a Wi-fi based laptop. thus no need for solid drive. -Memory stick's or usb drives, 2 gig stick for $50 can hold alot of stuff. i was messing around with one WOW! Nice no dought about that. @ v1Yes Over priced or just Expensive however u look at it, but heh More people wake up and get Mac cheaper they get yea?
I'd rather pick the one with a drive and more usb ports though.
hmm.. why are they comparing macbook air to vaio? they should compare it to macbook pro or macbook... macbook air is ultra portable laptop... not regular laptop...
The Macbook Air is so overpriced though and its only a little bit lighter than other laptops, I suppose if you got the money to throw around then do so.
I've seen Gears of Bore played on its highest setting on a Duo Core Vaio.... NO JOKE MAN.
macbook air is so cool my friend has one, but then again- he owns 2 islands in the Maldives, and nobody else does- so yeah it's pricey
But then again.. apple = mac which is better then sony = windows.
i think they both suck along with linix
well here is my trump card in power Gateways P series is awesome and expensive ntel® Core™2 Extreme Processor X7900 (2.80GHz, 800MHz FSB, 4MB L2 cache)1 3072MB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM (1-1024MB & 1-2048 MB module) · 400GB 7200rpm Serial ATA hard drive w/ 16MB Cache (2-200GB)2 NVIDIA® GeForce® Go 8800GTS with 512MB of GDDR3 discrete video memory 17.0" WUXGA TFT Active Matrix (1920 x 1200 max. resolution) Integrated 1.3 Megapixel Web Cam Fingerprint Reader (3) USB 2.0, VGA Connector, V1.2 HDMI Connector, IEEE 1394 Firewire Port, e-SATA and Kensington Lock Slot $2,699.99 Gateway® P-171XL FX Edition
Completely different market segements Air 3lbs Viao 6lbs Air - a second computer meant to be useable anywhere Viao - Complete home office. Air - battery life and weight are primary optimizations Viao - Power for Price (still not a great value but ok) Air - interface meant to be unique and simple - new touch pad methods etc. Viao - generic windows. Think Air as a really big ipod with computing abilities and Viao as a small entertainment system with computing abilities.
Since when is Apple not overpriced?
I would rather have any laptop over a Mac.
I'll buy 10 MAC's (maybe not the mac air) before i waste my money on another PC/Laptop. MAC OS rapes windows by a mile all day every day!
