Commander Shepard (Mark Meer) Interview: Why the Ending to Mass Effect 3 is “Perfect”

The incendiary title aside, Mark Meer (the voice of Commander Shepard) joined the show this week to give a retrospective on the Mass Effect series! Find out when he yelled at himself and his thoughts on the ending of Mass Effect 3. Interview starts at 44:30 (Mass Effect 3, Mass Effect 3: Citadel DLC, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

I think there was so much more they could have done with the ending....you go through 3 games playing one way or the other but essentially they all end the same and the God child bother me the most. It came out of no where and its reasoning was rediculous for continuing the cycle. I remember when the reapers were like "it's beyond your understanding blah blah blah", but no it turns out it could actually be explain in 2 minutes.
i felt like i was the only one who thought the ending to mass effect 3 was the best

Oh God, I know I'm beating a dead horse (then again this article brought it up not me) but Mass Effect 3 ending was pretty bad, there are a lot more endings objectively worse than me3s, but it was incredibly disappointing and nonsensical... gonna stop before I get into a rant.

I wasn't one of those people hating on Bioware for it, I loved the other 99% of ME3 and ME1 is prob my fave game this gen so I can't hate them for it, but I won't deny how let down I was with the ending.

Was he really going to say anything different?

Fact: It was piss poor writing that struggled just to make sense and resolved nothing.

the game was good, the ending however, i thought was total shite.

but it's a game, not real life.
thankfully real life isn't written by whoever the hell thought that ending was a good idea.

if he thinks it was good, good for him.

The ending is fucking bad but know what, playing the Citadel dlc right before the point of no return in game, i said to myself: you know what, its bad but i can accept this, picking up a subplot and making it the conclusion to the game, it feels like a cop out but i dont hate it has much as i used to, but one thing i can never forgive Bioware, that FUCKING conversation with the star child is SO FUCKING ANTICLIMACTIC, its brings the game to a complete standstill. It might be a cliche but the game really needed a final boss battle, bioware had concept art of the Illusive Man as the final boss.
