Editorial: What the Xbox One reveal means for Nintendo fans.

Pure Nintendo writes: "Microsoft is distancing itself even farther from competing with the Wii U. Sure, every Xbox One will come packaged with the new Kinect, but unless there is some AMAZING software support for the soon-to-be ubiquitous peripheral the majority of the motion control market will probably remain under Nintendo’s control."

As the author pointed out, the Wii-U jumping 800% on Amazon may be a sign of things to come. Wii-U will be the cheapest 8th gen console for years to come. It has free online, no online passes, no used game DRM, full backwards compatibility (not only with the games but also with the controllers, which is unprecedented), and no always-online nonsense. In addition, it will have the beefiest 1st-party library for at least the first two years, seeing how Wii-U is about to get its first "burst" of games while MS and Sony will be relying on launch titles to push the hardware. I haven't bought a Wii-U yet but I'm definitely getting one before I worry about a PS4 or Xbox One.

I wouldn't be so quick to base the speculation for the future of the Wiiu on one reported 800% rise in sales. Every console/handheld gets spikes, it's just a matter of which one can sustain a better average after the spike. I'm not saying you are wrong, I'm saying it's too early to say.

It's too early to count MS out thats for sure. But it isn't too early to start passing educated judgements on the WiiU. The WiiU went from being dead to many people, to being a system that they are now considering buying. That certainly isn't due to any efforts on Nintendo part, that is all thanks to MS.

But the PS4 has benefited too. You can't use that logic alone to come to a conclusion about only ONE console manufacturer. For all we know MS might have a brilliant E3 and negate any point in following this train of thought. It's far too early.
