Scoping out Final Fantasy XIV's bikini babes

"...A Miqo'te struts her way to the beachfront after a long day of grinding and looting, her hips swinging side to side like a pendulum, as she passes two equally unclad characters. After a shot of the dazzling azure sea, the scene cuts to a seaside exercise class, attended by a group of nimble Miqo'te wearing almost nothing but sunshine.

Bikini-clad catgirls are nothing new to Final Fantasy XIV, but their appearance in the trailer for A Realm Reborn shows Square Enix's continuing focus on servicing the fans."

All the money wasted on this and FFXI, imagine the real Final Fantasy games we could have had.
Noami  +   325d ago
you know how much sarcasm that could had been if u put /s in the end.
cause ffxi and ffxiv:ARR even FFXIV 1.0 had a better driven story than all the crud released after 11

even ffxi world story made ff10 feel like stupid

and to be honest i havent played a mmorpg that has had a greater story telling than of ffxi or even the start of ffxiv

"money wasted on this and FFXI"
Do you have any idea how much money XI made for SE?
Clearly you don't.

Square-Enix does both MMO's and traditional RPG games. It's their way of expanding on the Final Fantasy universe as opposed to just doing "another FF RPG" title, one after another. It's not money wasted. It's money well invested. In the case of FFXIV and FFXI, these are living, breathing worlds that you can be a part of and enjoy 24/7/365. With the traditional RPG, you beat it...and youre done with it. This is not the case when talking about MMO's. Even if you go from level 1 to level cap and do all the quests, you can still enjoy the vast world of Eorzea, and the social aspects of the game. There are a lot of people out there that enjoy MMO's and what they have to offer, and there arent that many good ones around...except for the king of MMO's - World Of Warcraft. And a lot of people are excited for the fact that this will be the first TRUE MMO to grace the PS3, in all its years. Which is exciting for console gamers around the world.

Square-Enix has made what...14 consecutive FF RPG games? I think a few MMO spin-off's wont kill you once every 10 years or so. Besides...we all know Square-Enix is working on FFXV, probably due out by next year, and THAT will be your next REAL Final Fantasy game, bro.

So suck it up and deal with it. MMO's are gaining popularity once more and as next gen consoles are more powerful and able to do more, you can bet that we will see MORE of them in the not too distant future.

FFXI is the most profitable FF game ever made and it still has some life left. That's pretty amazing if you ask me.
