Destiny Could Get PC Version, Cross-Platform Saves

The new game, Destiny, from Halo developers Bungie, may be released for PC. Although the company hasn’t confirmed anything yet. (Bungie, Destiny, PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

Fingers crossed, it would be kind of ridiculous not to have it on PC though in my opinion.

I hope so. As a game that apparently thrives with the online component, they shouldn't be too afraid of piracy. This is the reason a decent amount of games aren't released for PC, and I hate that so much.

Cross-game saves ! Does this mean if I buy the game for one console, I get it on all other consoles ?!

PS4 and PC, yes. MS will most likely charge a fee.

I hope it's like portal 2 where you can have both PS and PC version at a price of one.

Hopefully but it's cross platform SAVES. Like, save data.

If this is a MMOFPS (like Planetside), then it shouldn't be hard for one to make an account that syncs all saves across all platforms.

I doubt it. You'd need to buy a version for both platforms but you'd be able to continue your campaign on either one.
i want atleast for the pc and ps4 versions to be able to play together

Something tells me it'll come to PC as well, it wouldn't make sense for it not to. One of the good things about Bungie leaving Microsoft and Halo is that we get to see some of their more creative things across all platforms, which is something not possible before, especially if they were stuck with Halo games only.

Since it looks like 343i can do a solid job with Halo, it ends up being a win/win situation for gamer's.

that would be sick, as a pc gamer i hated how they released halo 1 and gear 1 but did it years after original release. kind of misses the point by then

And then kept the sequels exclusive to promote their console.

Why would it matter if it's a sequel exclusive or an exclusive from the beginning? That's really grasping for straws right there.

We'll have to see. But I don't buy table scraps or extra sales. And in the PC online arena if you try to sell that, you will fail.

I have been waiting for the possibity for years. I dream of a day when games become cross platform and if I pick up one version I can play with people from others. More than that though the possibility of "bundles" where its the game and not the platform that matters.

As someone said Portal 2 did it for PS3/PC and several PSN/Vita games work like that now as well (more closely related but same idea). Being able to decide which platform I can play on at any given time would be great. I don't see it going mainstream for generations still though and license agreements/pricing would be a huge pain for everyone to agree on (less so with fewer parties involved).

I really wished XBL/Windows Live had something similar as so many multi platform games for Xbox/PC already. Its part of why I can't wait for phones and tablets to become truly powerful and be able to compete with PC more directly--Steam and similar distribution can go "mobile" like never before. I really want to see that day but its not likely to be any time soon.

Doubtful consoles with let pc gamer play together online. Skilled mouse and keyboard users have a big advantage over controller users (they actually have done studies and tournaments to show it). Not too mention pc gamers possibly bringing in cheat codes into the game much easier than console users can.
