TGS Preview – Splinter Cell: Blacklist

Stealth action games are great. It’s a strange way to open a preview, but that is my feeling on them. I love them because they truly require skill. Anyone can blast their way through a Call of Duty, you just run and shoot and run some more and shoot some more, but being tasked with doing that whilst remaining undiscovered, or getting through levels without even taking down enemies who are constantly looking for you, just adds a whole new dimension to a game and that challenge is often very rewarding upon completion. (PC, PS3, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Xbox 360)

Conviction forced firefights. This annoyed me. Some rooms were impossible to get through without killing at least 1 person and the stealth just felt...Watered down from the last gen entries. Hope Blacklist fixes this issue.

The Spy vs Merc mode looks pretty classic with a few new twist thrown in. Is it bad that I'm anticipating that way more than the SP.

No it is not bad

This game looks better, but I still dont like tag and execute.

In the old games having 2 guys in the same room required some patience, timing and skill to kill them without get caught or dying. now you just paint 4 guys and press kill. Dumb feature for a game that was so hardcore.

There's a mode that turns that feature off.
