Gamers Didn’t Listen; Microsoft Xbox One Reveal Was Perfect

Xbox One reveal was perfect. For the first time mainstream media, and casuals understood a game console early before hitting the market. They understood a games consoles value before they saw any games. They saw gaming graduate to a new level. From USA Today to Bloomberg news. The impact of the Xbox One’s reveal is being felt before E3 2013. That's huge, and gamer’s are missing the entire point of what Micorosoft’s reveal was about yesterday. It didn’t matter that Microsoft has said. Gamer’s didn’t hear a word. It didn’t matter how clear the reveal was. Gamers ignored it all. Showing the rest of the world that we are whiners who want to be heard, but don’t listen. The saddest part is that by not listening, gamer’s are showing that gaming can’t grow with the times, and are selfish. (Microsoft, Xbox One)

It should be off by default. This isn't 1998. I'm sure I'm not alone in immediately closing the page and disregarding everything you may have had to say on account of being immediately turned off by the site design and autoplaying music.

You may not get this concept, but as Nintendo is learning now, it's the GAMERS that matter.

Casual audiences will lap up some initial hardware, but accessory sales? Nope. Major releases? Nope. Ask Nintendo about the attach rate on Wii games with the casual audiences. Ask the pubs and devs whose games didn't sell for shit on the Wii because of the casual focus. You may sell a lot of systems, but the money is made on games, accessories. MS shit on the audience that made the 360 what it is with this reveal.

You speak the truth there bj... It's the early adopters (gamers) that launch a console to it's inevitable success. They are the one's that tell/show their friends and family and spread the word. That's how I got all of my friends to purchase the PS3 this gen and how the 360 became so successful.

This article still doesn’t explain how the reveal was perfect.

Edit: Surely if it was perfect everyone would be happy with the reveal. The problem was gamers ("whiners" is how gamers are referred to in the article) did listen and where unhappy with what they heard.

The Xbox Reveal was perfect because they used an hour to:

A. Actually show the console
B. Actually demo and show what the console can do that has Zero to do with games.
C. It basically set up their E3 showing, so E3 can be All About Games!

Gamers will cry, and be upset. E3 will make all things right for xbox gamers, when they overload the entire show with games, games, and more games!

Perfect if you ask me! Let's see which console has the most launch games! Let's see which console has the most exclusives that PEOPLE want to play. Let's see which console is the better buy! All these things are not known yet. But it will be fun to watch it all come together before launch for both consoles!

The console war has just begun for the next generation. Gamers at this point give Ps4 the huge nod...as they should. Ps4's reveal showed games, games, and more games. Xbox One has yet to respond and they will at E3! Let's take a gamers poll after E3 and see what has changed from now till then!

As a owner of both ps3 and xbox, I wanted to see more games. But, that's why it was perfect. It just makes me more excited for E3!

Well it looks like people don't like perfection which is very evident with gamers response to the reveal. Let’s not forget that the outrage wasn't just at the lack of gameplay but the features and direction the system is going in.

I wouldn't say it was perfect but it did do enough to keep me very interested in buying one. What I don't get is the complaints about a lack of games when they have been saying the whole time not to expect too many game announcements at the initial reveal.
