Dying Light Preview | GameInformer

GameInformer: "The next game from Techland looks a lot like Dead Island, but integrates free running, a day/night cycle, and next-gen power." (Dying Light, PC, PS3, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

What's refreshing with the next generation is that out of nowhere games keep popping up from developers I've never heard of.

With all these new games I'm sure there will be some (gems) to your liking.

This does sound excellent. It sounds like the evolution Dead Island needs.

when this was first announced a hour or so ago i was hopping it would be a real survival game, one with need for caution and where resources are scarce, but now it just seems like another mindless zombie slayer, not interested

I wouldn't mind a "real" zombie survival game either but if Techland can make this the spiritual successor of Dead Island I could be happy.

It sounds sort of like that is what it is going for anyways as the setting is sort of similar (the urban area of DI expanded), similar weapon upgrades seem possible, yet its even more open, dynamic, and fast paced (toying with some of the DI zombies was almost embarrassingly easy--smacking joints so their arms flop uselessly was fun but got old).

yeah i mean i'm not saying the game will be bad cause it sounds really nice and like they tried really hard to freshen things up but i've just been waiting for the real survival game that so many games CLAIM to be. something nonlinear, challenging, and full of adventure. i wanna explore every nook of a dilapidated city, end up in tight situations where i might need to put blockades up and hunker down, something that really makes me feel like i'm in this world and have to fight to survive
