Xbox One May Have Sold Wii U Better Than Nintendo

The Xbox One reveal opened a lot of eyes and turned some heads. Unfortunately for Microsoft, some gamers are turning their attention to the Wii U after some details were released and questions were left unanswered. (Wii U, Xbox One)

I've heard a few gamers think the same thing.

I'm one of them.

PS4U is just so easy to say.

Most was waiting to see what all consoles have to offer before making the plunge.

"The Xbox One reveal opened a lot of eyes and turned some heads."

yeah, it opened their eyes to the draconian software features people were afraid that they were going to implement, and it turned their heads towards the PS4, wii U, and PC.

After watching the Xbox reveal the Wii U for me was like, 50% more appealing

Its true. Nintendo is currently doing a terrible job marketing this thing. But I think it is going to sell when Nintendo bring out their big guns anyway. This has definitely helped though.

If your a gamer and CARE about the future of gaming then the PS4 is thee only choice. Its that stark.
1upgamer99  +   434d ago
Are you drunk? Yeah Sony is a great choice, but so is Nintendo. If you "CARE" about the future of gaming. Nintendo pretty much invented most of the platforms we play. Freaking fanboy.

And yes Microsoft sunk their own boat. Sony, Nintendo, and PC. No X1.

I'd Wait
Before lumping Sony with Nintendo..Especially if their used games policy is any thing like M$. If its that much of a crippling deal breaker for Box1 it most certainly is that much crippling for Sony as well.

Keep in mind, they already share many negatives;

No Backwards Compatibility
Sony might charge for online like LIVE does (hope not)
Used Games Policy (Lets hope not but very likely)

Before praising Sony, lets wait for some facts to be clarified.

No monopolies. Multiple firms need to be successful for the industry to keep growing.

Agree-
Each of the companies develops and pushes the industry n new ways.

Whether it be, Online Gaming, Cinematic Experiences, or Topnotch Game play...

All of the companies:

Bring something new.
Draw different crowds to gaming.
And influence the over-all ethos of developers.

Like I say, “ I want games to be as diverse in material as Literature and Film.”

When EA realise that most gamers are on WiiU and ps4 and not the x-set-top-box they will back track, plus wiiu will have games that look better in my eyes, all i'm saying is X,Beyonetta2,will both be proper Nextgen in terms of graphics and gameplay and i cant wait for Smash bros,Watchdogs, kart, ect.

I think that the ones who were the most grateful after the XboxOne announcement was Nintendo. We all know the trials & tribulations that the Wii U is going through trying to find a place in the market. Since the reveal of the new Xbox, Nintendo now believe they have been given a 2nd life cause there was a reveal that was considered worst than theirs.

Nintendo has the 1st party juggernauts that can sell a system, unlike Microsoft other than Halo. E3 is now most important for Microsoft to put on a 'mind blown' show with their promised games...if those do not pan out like they hoped Microsoft will be like Sony this gen. Having to dig out of the hole they put THEMSELVES in.....

Before that I couldn't care less about Wii U, but after watching the coma inducing Xbox conference I was reminded how fun games can be. And how lucky we are to have a company like Nintendo around.
BabyTownFrolics  +   434d ago
um OK, i personally would rather be ONE4 than PS4U, but that's just me

Get PS4 and Wii U, these two are future of gaming imho.

Ps4 and Wii u for me. I don't need another cable box
Jek_Porkins  +   434d ago
I already have a Wii U, have had it since launch. I'll be getting an Xbox One as well, I just think I like a wide array of gaming options, and those Nintendo IP's are just so hard to pass up on.

"but x started the fire"

"yes , and the wiiu rises"

Wii U is awesome and will only get better when more games come out. I'll wait to see how multiplats perform on ps4 or xbox one before deciding that, and seeing what microsofts exclusives are. I play PC too which usually has the best multiplats so not sure if ps4 or xbox one will even be useful or necessary.

i picked up the wii u when it 1st came out.no regrets, but i'm going ps4 and xbox after taxes season.no need to rush for that system when the ps4 can do what x1 can do.plus my vita is dying for some real remoteplay connection.
objdadon  +   434d ago
I have ps3, xbox 360 and wii u. I planned on buying ps4 and new xbox but after all this new restrictive bs with Microsoft, I will be happy with just ps4 and wii u!
Gr81  +   434d ago
What
If Sony shows restrictive bs as well? Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Sony already implement fee's for used PS3 games such as if you buy a used game, you can play the offline portions of it but if you choose to play online there is a charge?

Seems pretty despicable to me. I'd say stick to PC gaming, since that is the direction M$/Sony want to go.

I agree with what many have said ... Nintendo I believe has been given a second chance now and Sony SHOULD easily take the lead with gamers as long as they don't follow in Microsoft's footsteps. I think for me ... without seeing a single game I know I will get a PS4 and a Wii U. Only some terrible announcements from Sony can ruin that. Wii U I was always planning on getting eventually once the big Nintendo games come out later this year hopefully. Sony ... the ball is in your court ... don't mess it up.
