The return of Andy Breeding with an interesting thought on the next generation Xbox.
no true gamer wants this.... we want games! they should have called this Microsoft One and made a separate true xbox and called it 720 or ANY other names people thought I would be called. this isnt a gaming system its an entertainment system for cable enthusiast's and shit... I never really got hype for this reveal because they let too many bad rumors float and now we know why. Flop. sad day for gaming.
I agree, There was early rumors that there would be two sku's of the Xbox 720. One that would have all that cable stuff and one strictly for games. In my opinion...the sku with the cable/TV features should have been all digital locking content and all, who cares about that since it's your cable box. But the second sku should have the disc drive along with all the features with the exception of the cable/TV features. And this sku DOES play used games.
No, I don't want a kinect, been there done that. Don't want a camera that is always on and always connected. I don't want to have to pay if I borrow a game for the weekend. Don't want M$ anymore.
HEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLL NO! Not me anyway.. The UI is cool for a gaming machine but if its not focused on GAMES, i dont want it..
I don't talk to any of my consoles and I am not going to start and talk to a new Xbox. I'm not talking to a machine that looks more like a high end cable box that plays games. I hardly use the current Kinnect as is and I don't want to be the controller. When I game I like a nice beer a controller in both hands an nice soft sofa for my ass to sit on and me relaxing. Last thing I want to do is jump up and down and move my arms after work its not going to happen. The set up maybe nice for other people buy not me. Im getting the PS4 and like I have with the XBox 360 I will sit and read up on the XboxOne see what games interest me and what the reviews are about the new console before I buy one I will do my homework on this console. I already have a cable box I don't need another one.
All these comments and no approvals for the actual post? Come on people. It takes 2 seconds :)
Is Xbox One The Future We Want? Its not a matter of whether its a future we want, its a matter of a future we will automatically adopt because the computer era/industry is moving in to a new PHASE. Remember PHASE ONE was the computer age(Atari ST, commodore) PHASE TWO is the mobile age which is happening right now. PHASE THREE is the ubiquitous computing age which have recently just started a few years ago. Everything will be interconnected in a few years from today, tv's, stove, gaming console, mobile, etc. This is a future we can ignore.
Next gen means you try different things not just slap more hardware in and hope for the best, bring gamers different games different ips bigger worlds not just better grafix, flawless multiplayer better ai in single player.we want more we want more not just the same ol game.
They are selling something no one needs or wants. XBOTS are dooooomed.
It's the future I want for Sony.
this isn't the future i want.... idon't care if it is PS4 or X1, i don't want this future for the gaming world!
It may not be a future we want, but it is the one the majority asked for or appeared to desire. Look how explosive social networking has become in a very short period of time. I have to be able to tweet about the movie I'm watching while Facebooking this new video I found while watching said movie all while listening to music and blogging about it. We're so interconnected, and keep asking to be, of course Microsoft is going to try and capitalize on a trend. And when was the last time you heard anyone want just a pure gaming console? How many generations have people continually slammed Nintendo for making only a gaming machine without DVD, Blu-ray, or other media capabilities? Now all of a sudden people want single player games without all the extras? And people are acting like this is a sudden evil being forced upon them? Maybe the Xbox One is going too the extreme on it, and the grab for a more casual market is rather insulting. But remember, our actions, words and purchases shaped how things went down. Out continual usage of these services give them the data to decide what path to take. We are the creators of this Frankenstein monstrosity.
I agree with you in that I think the Xbox One is a little extreme with how it sees media being the forefront instead of games. I don't mind my system doing more than just games, I just want games to be the main focus of a 'gaming console'. All the other stuff it can do needs to take a backseat to games.
