The Man Behind the PS4: Mark Cerny

Mark Cerny. The man's name may not resonate in certain portions of social circles, but the name most presumably resonates in the lion's share of other social circles. Predominantly ones involving the video games industry. HEY! You're not sensational enough to know the man -- don't take it personal now! Because he most likely knows you -- yes; and your more clandestine gaming habits, just like your wife does. Don't let his boy-ish charms fool you however.

So with all this hoopla and hyperbole surrounding the PS4 prior to its announcement, how could Sony address the tone, and come out swinging like George Foreman did in his historical bout against Joe Fraizer, to contrast? Well, for starters by placing the PlayStation 4's development in the not-too-shabby and capable hands of a "Modern-day Da Vinci." Ahem -- MARK CERNY. The night was January 22, 1973; Joe Fraizer was stunned -- dazed, and in a wavering state of consciousness. George Foreman was just a spry, young-buck; and he was e...

-As a developer, helping Sony to make PS4 a lot more developer friendly.

-Being a bridge between 3rd party developers, including indies, and Sony itself.

-Dat smile and hairstyle.

Jesus christ, he's like the perfect husbando.

OT:I bet that Sony will have the best conference at this E3.

This man has worked on the original Crash Bandicoot, Sonic the Hedgehog, original Jak & Daxter, original Spyro, Ratchet & Clank franchise, Uncharted franchise, Resistance franchise, God of War 3, Killzone 3.

All that legendary status and he's directing Knack, holy hell!

This guy knows what he is talking about and doing. I am not a genius but he is extremely good at explaining things and he did an amazing job at describing the amazing ps4 architecture.

OTH MS guys like the ones from the major nelson stream yesterday were clueless, speaking scripted lines, and had almost no passion.

when he was speaking it was like i couldn't move my eyes away from the screen lol, he talks with such a gentle voice

as a developer himself of some of the biggest/best Ip's, i think he will help sony a lot in the long run. He understands what the frustrations are in developer community about sony/playstation brand and will do his best to work on things

i am expecting this to be the best E3 from sony till date

I have spread this gif, although not created by me; all props go to the creator, across n4g, kotaku, engadget and other sites, after seeing it over at, in the hopes that someone will answer my hopes to recreate this gif by adding a little bit to it. So spread the word of what follows: To photoshoppers out there please recreate the gif posted by xHeavYx to include the same E3 intro, after the intro introduce the ironman 3 scene in which Tony Stark calls his suits for back up. Photo shop the heads of all of sony's great ceo's along with mr. cerny and especially the father of playstation, Ken Kutaragi in the middle when the suits are all hovering. After that include the same descending scene but photoshopping 7 suits descending. Feel free to shop their heads in their if you want. Finally, when on stage include Ken kutaragi clapping while the other suits are behind him with the head shopped. THIS NEEDS TO BE DONE PRIOR TO E3. Please do it.

The PS4 is definitely a good step for Sony in this day and age. This man has a great track record and a promising future if he's the mastermind behind that console.
