Proof: Original Crysis Realistic Jungle Looks Much Better Than CoD: Ghosts Realistic Jungle

A stunning and gorgeous looking comparison screenshot has arrived showcasing realistic jungles in original Crysis (2007) and Call of Duty: Ghosts. (Call of Duty: Ghosts, Crysis, PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

Update Another set of comparison screenshot added. This time around the comparison is between jungles in Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty: Ghosts. And It seems like CoD: Ghosts is again falling short....

The COD Ghosts jungle looks realistic, if your wasted and walking through a jungle that is
Axonometri  +   464d ago
The light in the Ghosts shot is indirect scattered light reflected and coming through the trees. Why does everyone think this does not happen?

This proves to me, more than anything, that consoles have been way behind PC for a long time.

COD Ghosts looks current gen graphics .
hesido  +   465d ago
See it motion on your TV, instead of from a 30fps video feed. I think it's a valid trade-off for 60fps on consoles.

I don't even want to reply to this r****d (hesido).
Oh wait!.. =P

From 30fps to 60fps, doesn't make the graphics ten times better, you know?

Crysis came out in 2007, this is coming out this year, and it has the same graphics as a 6 year old game, that's pretty laughable seeing as this is 'next gen'
hesido  +   465d ago
I'm a r****d because some random good for nothing person calls me a r****d on the internet.

Take it easy, and be civil. I applaud their commitment to 60fps gaming, and I prefer temporal resolution over eye candy. It's a matter of preference.
Baka-akaB  +   465d ago
This argument only works when assuming you can't have better graphics than what was shown if pursuing 60 fps , wich is a lie .
ginsunuva  +   465d ago
Crysis 3 and Bf3 on my current pc (gtx670) at 60fps say otherwise.

I'll agree with you if they can make those games run at 60fps on consoles (which I do hope, I'm a sucker for 60fps). If the competing games go with 30fps, we cannot know if they would look better at 60fps than Call of Duty, on consoles. After all, it is easier to do more stuff at 33ms compared to 16ms. John Carmack was mentioning how they could add 3x the detail at 30fps for the next installment of Doom compared to Rage at 60fps, not just 2x the detail.

CoD should not be compared to any game graphics-wise unless you're just wanting to show how horrible CoD is. CoD does NOT speak for the current graphics threshold. It is always behind since CoD4.

They should be comparing Crysis 3 with KZ:SF.

What a joke of a "substantial Upgrade".

Serious M$ and Acti belong together. What a bunch of incompetent American goofs.
papashango  +   465d ago
don't worry the next gen sony games will start to be compared with Crysis jungle landscapes as well and will also fall short.

CoD and realistic grfx...i lol'd pretty hard
Sandmano  +   465d ago
TBH it looked like a low budget PC game too me, sure some parts looked OK but the fire effects for example looked really current gen, I hope they prove me wrong with actual gameplay but I don't think they will.

Crysis 1 decimates pretty much every game out there now, including what I have seen from BF4 and Crysis 3
TRU3_GAM3R  +   465d ago
and the funny thing that its 2007 game!
Mr Tretton  +   464d ago
C1 has aged a bit with some things graphically, you have to admit. But after 6 years, it still excels in many ways, particularly in physics and vegetation.

COD will sell regardless.
Nodoze  +   465d ago
Maybe not. Every game has it hey day. Just look at Guitar Hero. Activision saw fit to run that into the ground as well. The same thing they are doing to CoD.

I for one cannot wait for CoD to die.
listenkids  +   465d ago
Bad example, Guitar Hero started adding £100's worth of equipment to even play properly, that's why it died on it's arse.

Well, it is running at 60FPS so some sacrifices have to be made, sure. But this is 8 YEARS beyond Xbox 360, and games like The Last Of Us are more graphically impressive than it. It seems to me like MS are not going razor blade with this machine, they hope to make a profit on every box sold. If this was similar to the last generation in terms of a power leap and using available parts at the time of release, we'd be seeing a 7950 equivalent inside this machine and at least +1Ghz on the CPU. The RAM is about right, but everything else is falling way short.

The truth is, I think MS just got blindsided by Sony because they grossly underestimated not only how far along they were with their game developments, but also their renewed approach to gamers and developers and even the amount of power inside the box. MS, you done goofed.

This won't bury MS, but if this machine fails (and it should), it will injure them seriously. They have a lot of money but it isn't limitless, and they're losing ground in every field hey're involved in right now due to mediocre product launches and not listening to their existing customers. A perfect storm is lining up on MS's horizon and they really need to make careful decisions about the course they are embarking on.
Pintheshadows  +   465d ago
MS seem to be suffering the third console curse. They seem to be in that arrogant position Sony was in before the PS3 launched.
Tei777  +   465d ago
Microsoft were out of their mind to let activision spend 10mins going about how next gen their game looks when it blatantly looks like a current gen port.

Not horrible for a launch title but not showcase worthy either.

Original Crysis Realistic Jungle Looks Much Better Than both cod ghost and bf4 one.
givemeshelter  +   465d ago
COD was never the game to showcase graphics. This is not surprising at all
KontryBoy706  +   465d ago
They have always made ridiculous claims that their games were photo realistic though
givemeshelter  +   465d ago
And when they did the game looked like poop compared to games 2+ years old...
Buljo  +   465d ago
Does anyone else think that the Activision next-gen engine isn't really all that much? From the gameplay we saw, it's basically the same shit as the one from 2007. Only the plants move now..
MasterCornholio  +   465d ago
Well Kojimas Fox engine looks much better than this.
PLASTICA-MAN  +   465d ago
This jump on graphics should have been done on this gen just like how we went from MGS4 to MGS5 with Fox Engine. Now not only Fox Engine looks better than a teh "next-gen" COD but it is open world and on this gen too. Kudos for Kojima ProUductions (it was a typo before but now it is on purpose)
SlavisH2  +   465d ago
I really hope they release a crysis saga/trilogy on next gen!
medman  +   465d ago
I always find it quite amusing that so many "gamers" get hung up on graphical fidelity time and time again. Some of the best games I've ever played were not graphical powerhouses. Some of the greatest and most fun games were produced in the 80's and 90's. If you have to hang your hat on how shiny the wet leaves in the forest look compared to some other game on some other system, you're part of the problem. Innovative and entertaining gameplay is what determines my enjoyment. Not if a leaf or blade of grass is more realistic on system x vs. system y. Get lives people. I really don't understand how PC douchebag continually gets all worked up over comparisons between consoles and PC's. Consoles are like fast food. Quick, easy, convenient, and readily available on every corner. PC's are more like a nice restaurant, where you have to put on shoes and a tie. It takes some effort, but in the end, you'll get a better meal and it's worth it. We get it. But even PC gamers should acknowledge you don't always want to get dressed up to go to dinner. Many times, you just want a burger and fries or some pizza. There is a time and place for everything.
Nunchez  +   465d ago
A game which came out in 2007 looks way better than a supposedly next-gen game? So so sad.
Detoxx  +   465d ago
The BF4 one isn't even a jungle and it still looks better..
it's okay guys
This was an xbox 360 launch title

the other was on the original xbox

meaning graphics will change overtime

it most def does look better than cod but as much as it looks these crytek games still suck my rig ran crysis on ultra and looked stunning my boys were going crazy at its looks but it still sucked lol figure it like this its like a one nite stand with girl of your dreams shes hot but cant f@#k worth sh@t lmao
MasterD919  +   464d ago
No matter how much they beef up the graphics (which doesn't say much since it will always be behind other franchises) they will use the same models and textures.

Reformatting your current engine using an old engine is not a new engine. Building from the ground up is.

The split second of multiplayer proved what this game is. Modern Warfare for the new generation with slightly improved graphics and b.s. hype.
cunnilumpkin  +   464d ago
as much as I want them too, I truthfully do not think next gen console games will look as good as crisis 1 does on a gaming pc, all maxed out in dx10 at native 1080p, with all that antialiasing and other effects set to full

I think the ps4 will have amazing looking games, no doubt, and the xbox won't be too far behind (kinda like this last gen) but comparing a $500 console to a $1000 pc is silly, the pc wins every time

when ps3 came out, a gtx 8800 was $600, the same price as the ps3, a gtx 8800 to this day still produces vastly better visuals than a ps3, the gtx 680 will be the same thing, yet, now you can get a gtx 680 for about $420 if you shop around, and a gtx 680 will smash everything the ps4 or xbox one can do

I don't care about only graphics though, I love all games, my psp may be what I play the most, when I finally have free time to game, I like kicking my feet up in my big ass bed, and gaming for an hour or two then going to bed.

I have a great gaming rig, a 360, ps3, ds, wii, psp, and will eventually get ps vita, 3ds, xboxone, and ps4.....but, no hurries, until they show me enough games that appeal directly to ME, i'm in no hurry....most of the announced games will be on pc, cod ghosts, watch dogs, etc, all will look and run best on my pc....so I can wait

Its an utter shame that millions of slack-jawed, knuckle-dragging, mouth breathing morons will run out to buy this latest piece of trash. There are such better MP games out there. I just dont get it.
