IGN - Resident Evil: Revelations HD Review

IGN:With its welcome return to classic-style horror action, Resident Evil: Revelations is very much worth playing in its HD form for its atmosphere and scares alone. However, if you’ve got the choice between the remake and the original, stick with the one you can carry in your pocket – this one feels a bit uncomfortable in its own skin.

The story is too old to be commented.

Well, the 3DS version got an 8.5. Resi Revelations is better according to them, but ideally you should play it on the console it was built for on the ground up. It deserves to lose out on score if it doesn't translate well to consoles. The demo on PS3 felt weird and I much prefer the 3DS version.

Capcom would have applied the same standard of work on making a Resident Evil title that is inspired by Revelations and old skool Resi and built it from the ground up then I bet it would blow Resi6's score away.

Capcom don't deserve praise for this.

Nice review, Revelation is a great game for 3DS, but for PC and consoles is a failure, ugly graphics, bad controls and it's expensive : 50 USD, the same price of better games like Metro and Last of Us.

I would only be interested in a Vita version....and it is the one version that didn't get announced.

I really don't understand Japanese developers anymore.

Different reviewers, different opinions

Revelation in HD screens looks ugly, the scenarios are very bad, awfull mapping and the textures are terrible. Revelations is a great game for Nintendo 3DS but is a poor adaptation for consoles and specially the PC.

RE 6 looks better but not for much. But worst is the price 50 USD.

If the game doesn't play well (which clearly they made it clear that controls are really off) then whats the point of the game being good?

If Journey, the game of the year, had bad controls I'm telling you right now it wouldn't even get a passing grade, the controls made it a 9+.

Same here, RE 6 was at least built for PC/Coneoles, so it plays well although the game itself is flawed....it is still played the way it was meant to played:)

This game is a 3Ds game, it plays and responds much better on 3Ds, mix that with the crappy graphics job and price tag...yea it's a 7.0-7.5 game:(

At least RE 6 is now 20$...and even at launch it dropped to 40$ pretty quick!

The pc version debuted at 40$....and this game is 50$ on ever platform...what bs!

Anyways, too bad, this game was amazing on 3Ds...it might've been smarter to port to Vita...translation would've been easier, and i bet cost less for them to do it...I also bet if they charged 50$ for Vita version ppl would still buy it!

Brilliant news. Capcom don't deserve high scores for porting over hand held games to big consoles. It got a decent score, lower than the 3DS version and mentioned it was worth playing. Resident Evil Revelations IS a better game than Resi6 according to them, but obviously the transition from 3DS to consoles isn't enough (and it isn't).

If Capcom want to prove themselves then they should build a game from the ground up with that old skool Resi passion specifically for consoles. I won't support this crap on PS3, but I am hunting down a 3DS version.
