Why Watch_Dogs doesn’t quite excite me anymore

SchollA from Console ControllUs pronounced console-control-us writes:
It was just a year ago around this time, E3 to be exact where I was singing the praises of this new IP, Watch_Dogs. I felt it was one of the top games at the show and something gamers needed, a fresh, new, never before seen take on gameplay — a style all of its own; fast forward 10 trailers later and the excitement for me becomes less and less. I’m officially less excited here’s why. (PC, PS3, PS4, Watch Dogs, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

Try/play the game first then give an opinion, not the other way around.

Yeah, not sure why some people think they know what you get from a trailer or a bit of footage you never know what you fully get until it's on your hand, the only thing you get is an idea/speculation of what the final product will be and that's it.

Yeah, I kind of felt the same way with inFamous and Bioshock Infinite at first, but look how fantastic those two turned out to be.

I'm not saying I won't try the game I'm not even saying this game won't live up to the hype its just an observation of what Ubisoft chose to show has me a little less excited than when they first introduced the concept that's all.

Shame your opinion isn't valid

"bullet-time" will also be in GTA V by the way, this was confirmed as an ability for one of the characters, I forget which one. Don't pick on Watch Dogs for being like GTA (who cares anyways, they can all exist), when GTA V is adding that feature also. I don't like the feature as well, but it's what's popular for some reason.

I've been calling it for a while. This thing reeks of the misdirection Ubisoft used when showing off Splinter Cell Conviction.

hes not saying the game will be bad hes just stating his reasons for why he is no longer hyped for it(basically meaning he doesnt have the jitters for it)and once the game is released his opinion could change.

I'm horribly disappointed at it's similarity to the AC series. It just makes it seem like it's gonna be shallow and empty just like AC, in fact... like most of Ubi's games/

I couldn't of said it better.

Regardless of this guy's opinion, I'm still getting this game.

There IS a story you idiot! it's been kept hus-hus. and how's it, you've got 3 options, 3 outcomes so shhhh and play it. like you said we don't know this,

I agree with him, this game looks kinda actual gen/nextgen, not fully next gen though. The textures look ugly so do the shadows and lightning.

you do realize that demos, early footage and a cutscene or two don't equate to the game itself, right? there still needs to be time for development and polish before the game is even released.

The scary thing about that is AC3 and trailers and demo's etc that looked really good but then the final game came out and to be honest it didn't look as good.

There have been plenty of games that had trailers and demo's that looked great and the final game didn't meet up with that the trailers showed.

it can work both ways.

@Dark Witness

it's not safe to assume from past games even if they're from the same developer. either they get it right or they don't, and we don't know that right now since the game is obviously still in it's early stages. though i do agree with you.

How do you feel about GTA5.
Loki86  +   528d ago
I got an idea for you, stop watching footage. It's not that hard to understand.
sarcastoid  +   528d ago
Read title as "was excited about Watch Dogs until everyone else got excited about it, too."
WeAreLegion  +   528d ago
Think what you want. I cannot wait for this game!!! I'll be getting this as soon as it comes out!
ginsunuva  +   528d ago
Now that I saw this will be made just like AC, then we already know what to expect from the game, just like AC.

And since it was announced for current gen as well, that makes it seem limited.

Watch dogs GRAPHICS PS4 = any PS3 exclusive title. I feel tricked.

I'm pretty sure there's some type of story, from the info given about something going on with his family so that's why he is who he is. I'm still very excited for the game, and I do understand your point of view on this considering they haven't really shown anything about the story; just the free roam aspect. I'm pretty sure we're in for a great story as well. Definitely top 3 most anticipated game for me along with GTA V and TLOU
