UK games chart – Metro: Last Light top this week’s list

Brash Games writes "Ukrainian developer 4A Games’ bleakly beautiful first-person-shooter, Metro: Last Light has knocked previous number one, Dead Island: Riptide, of the top of the UK video games chart. That’s despite Last Light selling fewer copies in it’s opening seven days on sale thanit’s predecessor, Metro 2033". (3DS, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Dead Island Riptide, FIFA 13, Injustice: Gods Among Us, Metro: Last Light, PC, PS Vita, PS3, Tomb Raider, Wii, Wii U, Xbox 360)

bought this the other day, playing the first one right now. good so far.

my copy also came with the ranger mode add-on (didn't pre-order, either), which makes me wonder why people were so uptight over the issue to begin with.

I bought it two days ago, my copy also came with ranger mode dlc. playing it to get to the textured vajay vajay part, lol I kid I kid

I hope this game sells well. I'm playing through it again and I think the attention to detail is awesome, with satisfying gameplay in both the stealth and action approach. I'd like to see another installment in the franchise if the devs are up for it. It would be unfortunate if the one thing holding them back being poor sales.

I'm on the last few chapters.. been methodically getting trophies replaying chapters over and over..

I'm playing both games back to back on Ranger Mode Hardcore and the immersion is incredible. I wish more games could get away with no HUD at all and instead implement things with sound and visual cues.

Agreed, playing with no HUD is a great experience. Besides the whole immersion factor, it's great to just have no clutter that gets in the way while viewing and appreciating the environment (especially on that harsh surface).

Now, it's different if you have a futuristic game where you are in a high tech suit and have a visor with various readings on a HUD, because that can be immersive as well when done correctly. But for this game, the HUD-less view is the way to go and it would be cool to see some other devs experiment with it in other games.
