Major US store anticipates PSP stock shortages

News reports of shop shelves running dry of the Nintendo DS (and console bigger brother DS) are pretty frequent. In fact, they're repeated about as often as that terrible Nickelback Rockstar song is on our local radio station.

Which reminds us, our local game shop still gets so excited about having Nintendo consoles in stock it feels the need to publicise the fact with a scribbled note stuck in their window. It's like there's war on and Nintendo feels the need to ration the things.

Wow...I never thought I would see the day "PSP" and "shortage" would be used in the same story. Finally it's getting the sales it deserves...it's the best handheld system I've ever used.

Patapon + Wipeout Pulse + God of War + FF7: Crisis Core = A shortage being highly possible. I can even see some people buying Metal Gear Portable Ops too.

PSP always had high demand since they released the slim PSPs. Most stores during the holidays only had the starwars sku. The PSP system sells really well. It's the software that needs help.

Yeah I couldn't find a piano black slim for crap until holiday season was over. And I don't want Darth Vader on the back of my PSP as cool as the white one looks.

And so it begins, consumers are finally seeing what the PSP is truly capable of. Time for them to start buying games.

how can there be a PSP sales shortage? it's been out since 2004-2005.

Sound familiar?

Hypocrites all of you.

1. This is Gamestop saying this. Not Sony 1 day before NPD numbers come out. haha

2. PSP sells well in all 3 regions unlike the 360. Example? 60k to 80k PSPs sold in Japan compared to 2k to 4k 360s.

This is an actual retailer claiming shortages not the company behind the system.
I have yet to see a retailer come out and claim 360 shortages.
Until then I'm not believing Microsoft.
