Lords of Shadow is the most successful Castlevania ever

Speaking to Destructoid at a pre-E3 event, Konami's Dave Cox disclosed that (wait for it) Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is the most successful Castlevania game to date, even surpassing the massive sales of games from 1997 on. Konami wouldn't allow Cox to drop hard numbers, unfortunately. (Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Industry)

Great Game.

+1

Not perfect though, and quite a few things that could be improved, but hopefully LoS2 will be all the better for it.

Like, putting continue points AFTER cut scenes for one thing.

That... kind of disappoints me. Don't get me wrong, LoS is a phenomenal game in my opinion, but the first, third, and fourth games were more enjoyable for me.

Still, it's deserved, no doubt about it.

It's not my favorite game of the series either, but despite being a fan of both the classic CVs (especially IV) and the Metroidvanias, I still enjoyed LOS quite a lot. Definitely looking forward to the sequel.

That is very interesting, especially since Konami wasn't even going to call the game Castlevania, so I guess their faith in the game and developer has paid off.

i'm a veteran castlevania player since its beginning and i'm one who would argue that the most successful castlevania is a 2D castlevania but, LoS deserves it.

LoS is one of my favorite games of this generation, one of the most beautiful games I've ever played and LoS2 is my most anticipated game of this year.

kudos MercurySteam.

The series always looks boring and uninteresting to me before. Then Castlevania: Lords of Shadow came along and it's an amazing game! I can't wait for the sequel.

It has no chance at outselling God of War: Ascension but hopefully it'll come decently close and will be a huge hit for the studio.

There was Bit of camera issues..... overall a good Castlevania game

Yeah, some time when you run around a corner and the camera changes you find yourself running into walls and stuff. Can be frustrating.

LoS was a huge sleeper hit for me. Game was so great and for me it came out of nowhere. It was an impulse buy and I never regretted it.
