A European release of Yakuza 5 is far from certain because the high localization costs might constitute too great a financial risk.
so that's the issue... Game's too big for its own good.
that's not the problem being to big, the problem is people ask for it Sega localizes & brings it over and then noone buys it.
that's the sad truth.
good thing I don't live in Europe...hopefully we will get a US release date..god I hope so.
you think US is not the same? stop lying to yourself.
NNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOoooooooooooo!! .............. "sob".
Let a few fans translate it then digital release it sega.
Why can't all countries in Europe just learn English.
or all people in Europe learn Japanese so we can just buy the Japanese copy :p
I'm pretty sure previous Yakuza games were only released in English, even in mainland Europe. So either the translation costs are too high even for just English, in which case it could also impact a US version (but I just don't see them not releasing it anywhere in the West at all), or the previous Yakuzas sold very poorly in Europe because they were English-only, and they don't want to bother with an English-only Euro version.
The funny thing is that even the English translations are bad and it costs a lot... wtf?!
Sad news, but there is still hope, Sega hasn't ruled it out, hell they may be planning on announcing it at a big venue. If we don't hear anything by the end of E3, then it will be time for fans to band together and force Sega to change it's mind, just like we did with Yakuza 3
English is fine for me, sometimes when games are story based, subs could be a nice add on
