Good choices from the article and more to come but for now id say bioshock infinite is leading the votes so far out of the games that are out already. GTA V, TLOU, Beyond Two Souls, Watch Dogs will also give bioshock infinite a good run for GOTY. Amazing year with tons of great games.
* FE:Awakening * Planetside 2 ( but was released late 2012 so doesn't count I guess. It's a good honorable mention. I usually wouldn't put a FPS game there but it's different from anything other FPS games out there. Until next gen is fully here that is. Most games I've played this year are older games I'm just now discovering so I haven't played too many new.
Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch for me
I have to agree. I actually enjoyed Ni No Kuni more then bioshock infinite & tomb raider & far cry 3 & god of war ascension which all are great games in there own genre but Ni No Kuni just caught me by surprise. I did not expect it to be that good of a game. I hope it can win a few awards because its definitely an amazing game.
Ni No Kuni. It gives almost the same feeling as I did when I first played Kingdom Hearts. It's a pretty amazing experience.
so for me fire emblem
No doubt Fire Emblem is amazing... Not sure if it's THE best this year, but it's certainly up there.
Ni no Kuni, but I think GTA V will take the crown.
Persona 4 Golden, it was released really late over here and I'd never played it on PS2. Bioshock Infinite was boring as hell, and I think the Last of us and GTAV are gonna blow it out of the water
I hope Watch Dogs does really well but it's going to be between GTA V and Last Of Us for me atleast.
1) GTA V 2) Bioshock Infinite 3) The Last of Us 4) Tomb Raider 5) Watch Dogs Reasons: 1) Because it's GTA. Nuff said. 2) Incredible game with a great emotional investment in Elizabeth and a nice plot twist. Already has plenty of callings for GOTY. 3) New take on the idea of Zombies with a beautiful open world. Players will more than likely develop a emotional attachment to Ellie similar Elizabeth from Bioshock. Inclusion of multiplayer doesn't hurt. 4) Personally, I see it as the best, or one of the best, reboots to a video game franchise ever. Lara actually has emotional depth and is a real person, not some caricature of the female form and not a cold, Marine-like individual. 5) Nice open world and the idea of playing as a hacker vigilante is definitely interesting. Huge amount of interactivity.
My choice; Bioshock Infinite Ni No Kuni God of War Ascension. I could've easily replace GoW with something else, but I just love GoW, & it's great at what it does.
So far, mine are Tomb Raider or Bioshock. Its hard to say which is better, though.
Bioshock infinte so far for me.. although I though it was disappointing compared to the original, it had it flaws ... but it managed to get other things right. the city of Columbia and the story. although my favorite game this year was MG RISING, so much fucking fun. I thought that was one of the best action game I've played in years! brilliant combat and a great movie(so underrated). also loved tomb raider. one of the best games I ve played also but still not enough for a goty.
Fire Emblem: Awakening.
