3 Innovations We Actually Want From ‘The Next Gen’

AlienLion:
"New consoles used to be easy: more polygons, more bits, stereo-er sound, what have you. Most of us had no idea what the fuck those terms even meant (I still don’t), but they made the technological progress somewhat quantifiable. We knew that the audio and the video were to get better, and we also knew that 16 bits was exactly twice as awesome as 8 bits." (Crysis, Dev, Halo, Mirror's Edge, PS4, Redwood Falls, Xbox One)

Seriously, is that even necessary, let alone professional to speak that way in an article?

Unbelievable that something like that gets posted here.
You say (whoever you are, cause you don't have the balls or professionalism to give a real name)that "I want a new type of intellectual enjoyment from a new type of video game." Yet you can't even write an intellectual article. Your just trying to sound tough to hide tha fact that you lack education and are unable to do your job as an entry level journalist.

I bet I could tap you the $%#@ out!

get some respect.

I quoted your post here just so everyone else gets a chuckle, in case you delete it.

For your info, I frequent alienlion and submit their articles on n4g all the time because they encouraged me to write. The guys help aspiring writers to put good articles together and they post them on their site and award them free games and they dont even post ads on the site. If you bothered to check it out, you wouldn't have made such a fool of yourself right now. You'd also know that it's as much a comedy site as a gaming site hence the language. And you threatening to "tap out" someone is just hilarious. Gotta love internet tough guys. The only one who should get some respect is you.

Oh and there is no name because some authors request to have their work posted as part of the site (for professional purposes). And before you ask no, i did not write this article but lets see you do better mr intellectual.

look pal, if you like that site then fine, but it still doesn't make it professional nor does it give it credit. I'm not allowed to be offended because this site gives out free games and 'helps' aspiring writers (just because you say so)? You can't see how this detracts from the industry? If that site is giving you inspiration for your little kiddie rewards then go there and learn from them. post your work anonymously, it just shows you don't have the spine to back up what you say. Just another person on the internet passing shit as 'real' work. (BTW - I'm in a forum where I'm allowed to be anonynous)

Seriously, the guy/girl is swearing in an article and you're coming to their aid. Shows what kind of knowledge and skills you have. Ambiguity, poor humour, and swearing is just a mask for a lack of talent or lack of something else.

if you get kiddie rewards for posting on the site, let me ask you this: Would people post there if there were no little free games?

Credible sites reward their journalists with paychecks.

Look bro, Im coming to their aid because they encourage people to express their opinions/creativity and award free games as incentives for doing it in a structured and entertaining way. thats more than you do ragging on the work of another dude/girl just like you who put themselves out there.

also encouraging gamers to voice their opinions in a somewhat official manner detracts from the industry? you are a very confused bro if you think so.

Oh and head over to gamejournalismjobs (which is how i found the site in the first place) and see how many sites give out paychecks or ANYthing. kiddie rewards? actual gamers consider free games good rewards.

and if its the swearing that is bothering you then you must not visit a lot of awesome sites like cracked or ebc. again bro, the site is about encouraging fun writing. my god you are literally the most ridiculous person ive seen on n4g and ive seen lots.

#3 A Fresh Perspective (Different Camera angles)

#2 New Genres

#1 Physical Interactions (Realistic movement and reactions. Like RAGE engine but more advanced)

Kind of dumb entries when you offer extremely poor examples of your own. "Hey game developers! New camera angles!.. Ok, GO!"

Bettery physics and getting rid of ragdoll physics. When you kill someone it needs to have a weight. I hated this specially in Dead Space when I had to stomp dead aliens and the whole body moved like...... a ragdoll. Really that needs to change and be a little more realistic.

Dude, what about Gears? You step on a 300 pound dead body and it starts breakdancing up and down the street.
