A PS4 version might arrive at some point, but does anyone else feel that Gran Turismo 6 for the PS3 feels like an anticlimactic announcement?

Omar91 you are correct. This was a simple decision on Sony's part and the PS3 is now very important and strategic for Sony because it is not future proof in the GPU but the PS3 will survive for a while yet if it is supported and could get some next gen ports for games that are not resource intensive. Blu-ray for the win.

I feel like PS3 is going to enter mass market price range.

You have the likes of Beyond, GT6, Rain and Puppeteer landing... if you never owned a PS3 before (for whatever reason) a price cut and these games could provide strong incentive.

No, they can still make a PS4 version.

considering GT3 was the best selling GT and it released in 2001 a year after PS2 came out, a man thinks yes. Though if they make a PS4 game by 2015 then a man thinks they'll be fine. Also a GT6 PS4 version in 2014 (all DLC and higher framerate/resolutions/online modes) would help tremendously.

no. If it was the year 2019? yes.

No. They spent a long time and a lot of money working on the GT5 engine, and even though it looked amazing in many ways, it could have used some more polish in a few areas. This way they can release a game with the perfected version of that engine on PS3, then release GT7 on PS4 in 2 or 3 years because PS4 isn't the strange beast PS3 is and it won't take so long to finish.
