More FPS Developers Should Take Notes From Wolfenstein

Wolfenstein: The New Order was announced last week, and this announcement got Den of Geek's Daniel Hill thinking about just how big it is when a new Wolfenstein gets announced now. It’s nothing on the scale of your Call Of Duty’s, but for a series that hasn’t made an appearance in four or so years, it’s no small feat that the first trailer got almost 400 thousand views in about 5 days. How do they accomplish this? By taking the exact opposite approach that CoD does. (Culture, Dev, Wolfenstein: The New Order)

The last Wolfenstein was a mess, there hasn't been a good one since the original xbox and I'm afraid this will not change that fact.

Or Developers should make "Less" FPS and start doing other GENRE.

i dont mind Devs doing less FPS, some of the best games are FPS (half-life, bioshock) i just feel like the majority of them or sooooo generic and linear.

When you've been playing FPS games for like 15 years you can usually judge whether it will be any good within about 15 minutes of playing it.

Actually scrap that, you can usually tell if it will be any good just by looking at screenshots haha.

Simple solution. Don't buy FPS then they will be forced to make something else. Not all devs are aiming at FPS games you know. FPS is quick action so it drops every year. RPG games take more time to develop a real story into the gameplay.

I have been playing FPS since Wolfenstien 3D. This new game is the first one I feel can deliver since Wolf 3D. Only thing better would be a Wolf 3D reboot.
