Forbes - Coffee Stain Studios’ Sanctum 2 (PC, XBLA, PSN) explores a blend of fast-paced FPS and strategic tower defense. There’s a smattering of RPG and customization elements mixed into the clashing genres as well, and when all is said and done the title pulls off the blaster blender well. At its best, Sanctum 2 succeeds as a riveting and intense multiplayer mashup, ideal when played with friends. At its worst, Sanctum 2 stagnates as a single player experiment that strays too far from its parent archetypes.
Steam has announced that the tower defense/FPS hybrid Sanctum and its sequel Sanctum 2 will be free from now til next Sunday.
