The Five Worst Zelda Games

ZI writes: Talking about what game is your personal favorite in the series is a rather popular talking point. We all have various opinions and enjoy several different facets of the Zelda kingdom that at any given point we could prefer one game over another. What we don't talk about are the games that are arguably at the bottom end of the spectrum. In the end, none of the Zelda games are bad. I don't even know if Nintendo knows how to make a bad Zelda game, but in my humble opinion I believe I have compiled a list of five games that are probably at the bottom of my list of Zelda titles. Games I will probably not be replaying anytime soon.

all the phillips ones, it was such a bad move by nintendo sell the rights to Zelda and other classics at the time.

I wonder what's for dinner?

But on a serious note, Ocarina is in either the number 1/2 spot (being the best) with majoras mask for me.
Skyword Sword is definitely the worst console zelda, the only one I and several other friends who have played all of the zeldas couldn't bring ourselves to finish due to its repetition of areas, lack of exploring and just plain linear boringness.
Best handheld version is Links Awakening, mainly for nostalgia purposes.

@FriedGoat Skyward Sword is definitely the worst. Very disapointing game, still a good game, but no where near the usual Zelda quality. Despite those cel shaded graphics I felt like the whole world and all the characters lacked soul. I feel like I'm in the minority of this but my favorite 3d zelda is Twilight Princess. Loved how big it was and the dark moody atmosphere. Ocarina of Time is probably right next to it tho, haven't played MM but I plan to by the end of summer.

Also I loved playing through the original, thought it was a masterpiece. The dungeon layout was somewhat repetitive but the gameplay was excellent and the whole exploration aspects were awesome.

Nintendo didn't sell the rights. They gave Phillips permission to create 2 Mario and 2 Zelda games for developing the CD-ROM attachment to the SNES for very little funding from Nintendo...

The zeldas I didnt really like were wind waker, and all the top down view ones, probably due to me starting with ocarina of time. Going back to the snes/nes/gameboy ones and expecting wind waker to be like ocarina of time was just setting myself up for a disappointment.

who has time to write up stupid garbage like this?

bad zelda games? really? i dont think so. NO CLICK FOR U. COME BACK 1 YEAR.

cpayne931299d ago

Well the author himself says there are no bad zelda games. Assuming the cdi games don't count I suppose.

5. Ocarina of Time
4. The Minish Cap
3. Four Swords
2. The Legend of Zelda
1. Phantom Hourglass

I strongly disagree!
I liked the minish cap and I love OoT. Wind waker is my favourite though.

eferreira1299d ago
