Terrible practice, but not like I expect better from EA.

Wow! A F2P game making money from micro transactions!! Whatever next!!

People have the option of buying cartel coins, or if you're a subscriber then save up. If a complete character makeover is 1500 cartel coins - that's 3 months of saving up the 'FREE' coins given every month.

None of these cosmetic changes are required to win the game Are people really going to leave because they are being charged to change eye colour!

Whilst the Cathar now costing is bad form from EA, it's only two months of free coins if you're a subscriber (500 per month). If you're on the F2P model then I would expect new character classes to be an unlock that costs.

It's not a F2p game though is it.. it's a freemium game which seems to be lacking in premium content. Subscribers should have Cathar for free or at the very least they should cost 500 cartel coins.

I have the option to play as a Cathar, for free, as a sub.

15 bucks is a bit much to call it a microtransaction but if people are going to pay it then they are justifying the decision to make it so much

techsvengali3991d ago

oh no a completely visual only feature being added for *GASP* a micro transactions! None of whats been added changes ACTUAL gameplay in anyway, let alone P2W. Bad news is bad.

EA inventing new form of payments... MACRO-TRANSACTION ? :P

I loved this game and have played since launch but don't let this article fool you, this game is a step above life support. While they are still technically updating the game, the updates are few and far between and there is a significant lack of quality control, so many little bugs that have been present for years.

The updates felt flimsy to me also. Stopped playing in 2021.

This game got a huge update last year didn't it with more content?

PapaBop387d ago

They promoted it as an expansion yet offered like 3-4 hours of content. The game is amazing and easily one of the best Star Wars games ever made but content drops are so few and far between.
