Today, Xbox is launching one of the most asked for apps on Xbox LIVE: Twitch.
A quote from the article: "Twitch will also host an exclusive broadcast following the May 21st #XboxRevealed event next week." Says it all, Twitch.tv for Xbox 720....one week to go. I get the feeling that Microsoft strikes better deals when it comes to applications.
Twitch is not gonna go exclusive. Quote from mr Jared community manager of twitch "I sound like a broken record at this point, but the deal Sony has with UStream on the PlayStation 4 is not exclusive, and we don't deal in exclusives when it comes to our apps, either. We want a Twitch app on everything. How else can one achieve world domination? ;)"
Though I don't use either of them, more consumer choices is usually better. In it's current form you can only view the top 300 channels, that's quite crippled. And it's US only so the rest of the world is left out.
1. Only available in USA 2. Only broadcasting the top 300 channels (mostly PC games) 3. Locked behind Xbox Gold paywall Talk about a slap in the face to its customers. Go away Microsoft.
I have a feeling twitch will at least be timed exclusive to the next Xbox.
this is cool. its becoming more clear that the 720 will also support streaming of game video.
focus on games MS, please god just focus on the games!
They do have games incoming, they're just being silent about it. They're trying to show a ton of features and apps now and then they'll probably show a bunch of games at their conference next week, except those games would just be GoW, Halo, Forza, PGR, timed exclusive CoD stuff, and that Kinnect Crytek game. Unfortunately this is just another example of Microsoft making you pay for a free service while dumbing it down. Read the article folks. It's US only and doesn't have a search feature, you can only watch the top channels.
Nah people rather get the most value from a console. Just games is a notion from no life geeks from the 90's| A couple of games that need hype will be shown at the reveal leading up to E3 and the rest MSFT has been working on for the last 5 years will be shown at E3 and latter shows later this year. Please Android and Apple just focus on phone calls!! Please god just calls!!! LMAO PS fans bug me. I'd rather have a multi media device that plays games and replaces all my devices and is connected to everything from a company that is expanding what a home entretainment system is *vs* a console pumping out games and offers nothing else unless tacked on after being forced to. I wan't a leader to give my money to *not* a follower that can't walk and chew gum at the same time.
"I'd rather have a multi media device that plays games and replaces all my devices and is connected to everything from a company" Maybe you'll get lucky and it'll incorporate a microwave oven, fridge freezer, and dishwasher.
I might be a PS fanboy, but I never mentioned it in my comment. Nice job bringing that up for no reason other than to complain. And if you are looking for a multimedia device that give you the best value for your money, how about a PC. Every feature and app that you pay for on Xbox you can find for free on PC.
"I'd rather have a multi media device that plays games and replaces all my devices and is connected to everything from a company" so a PC?
Why US market only, there are other Countries
Sweet, more variety the better value.
Probably ony for the US? Xbox360 is great if you like in the US, so many services. Once you go outside the US its all downhill. Thats probably why PS3 is selling better in the rest of the world...
This seems like a good thing for Sony & Nintendo. Now 360 owners can easily watch PS3 & Wii games from their 360. I mean what else are they gonna do on the 360? Play games!? LOL!
